Not so much a complaint as a question. I was started at $6.65 an hour. Another guy who started a month before me was started at $7.80 doing the same job. No big deal, I just assumed he had more experience on his application, so he got a better starting wage. Raises come around this month because minimum wage is increasing, and he gets a $0.95 and i get a $0.10 raise. Why is this? I was told before hand that there was a contract raise coming up, as well as this minimum wage federal raise, but was also told that the less you make, the bigger the raise will be. Is there something I am missing or don't know about kroger?
the new contract wa suppossed to give everyone a raise, grocery was .30 across the board here, frozen .60, gm got a big increase, etc.
regardless, kroger has a great habit (in nashville area + knoxville area) of NOT paying you the right hours OR wages.
me and a friend are both owed well over a grand, and have been owed for about a year a peice, the union is a useless front when it comes to actually getting anything done, too.
they get you 40 hours, and job security, but besides that they are pretty useless. i'd recommend taling to them anyways, for formalities,
and best bet to ever get anything done is make friends with your back door reciever (they've usually been with the company for a long time and are chill) and find whichever assistant manager actually does anything. they can help you.
communicate the issue. and persue it. harass your union rep with phone calls every payday until it;s straightened out.
but good luck, i feel you. =)
they scheduled me in dry grocery three days this week, i do believe they are trying to gip me that 60 cent raise for frozen...
yeah right i am one of my krogers best cashiers and i still get minimum wage even a 5 cent per hour raise would make me feel better about it and maybe 5 more hours a week. They have owed me cashier wage for over 2 months now. and in 3 months i will get another raise that they probably wont give me and im not in the union so they wont do crap for me. iwant what i earned and deserve. they owe over $75 in retro pay
