Be ready to severly work your ass off. Usually understaffed. If your transferring ask these questions.

How many are putting "dry goods" on the shelf? Not frozen or dairy or endcaps. Those guys have nothing to do with the isles pretty much or breaking down a truck. Kroger likes to count them as heartbeats and will lie about how many is on the "stock crew" dairy, frozen, grocery manager is considered are all counted as "grocery stock crew". They are useless in working isles.

Ask how many trucks or nights you get trucks. If you get 9 trucks in a week thats a truck every night with a Peyton coming in ontop of a grocery 2 nights. Theres going to be double work for some if the crew has 5-6 guys because they can't cover all the truck nights with a ahandful of guys. Backstock night has to be done on a truck night,so you not only have to cleanup an isle after a 100k day they then want you to try to work a crap load of over ordered stuff they ordered.

Ask how many FT's are there. Kroger has gotten into re-defining PartTime. They like to work a PT 5 or 6 days aweek giving only 5-6 hours. It eliminates the need for having to hire a FT. WHich undercuts the FT status. FT get more benefits. Better vacation, better pay, better insurance. PT's will have to come in at 12p or 1am and work till 6a or 7p. They've also gotten into the kick of having guys stay past 8 to 9am. Everywhere I been the managers wanted you out by 7a and the isles clean for customer shopping.

Kroger is also getting into the kick now of timing you and documentation on every minute your there. They want to know every minute of work, cleanup, bathroom trip. They like to complicate the plumbing and make it as miserable as possible for you. They give only so long for breakdown of truck, cleaningup the isle, blocking, stocking.

In a nutshell, they make the job more complicated than it has to be just due to understaffing. Stock crew is considered lowlifes and get the hours cut first before baggers and checkers.

NIGHTSTOCKING IS EASY AS F .U. C. K . ALL SIGNATURE STORES GET 8-10 NIGHTSTOCKERS AND THE SMALLER STORES GET 5-7 NIGHTSTOCKERS. IT'S NOT HARD DOING THE TRUCKS AND NO OFFENSE MOST STORES GET 5 TRUCKS A WEEK EXCLUDING THE PEYTON TRUCK WHICH AT MOST IS 400 CASES. IF YOUR GETTING 7 TRUCKS A WEEK YOUR EITHER ON A 1 MILLION DOLLAR STORE PER WEEK OR A NEW STORE THAT OPENED UP.

No offense taken but yea, we get 9 trucks in a week, crap theres only 7 days in a week. We have a truck EVERY night and on several theres 2. I wish to hell we did get 5 a week. I've always worked where there was 5, but not here, its 9. ANd we're NOT a new store. I guess we're one of those stores who help cover the losing stores.

As for a Signature store, we're just a small, cluttered, run down doing 3-4 mill a month due to location,Senior Day(125K this week). We usually have only 5-6 guys each night due to 9 trucks a week. Our Peytons are 600-800 cases(5+ Pallets stacked & packed 8' high). The work is Physically demanding.Up and Down on your knees.

Mentally it's a piece of case. Whats more easier than "taking it out of the box and sticking it in the shelf"?

well our store is making about 600k a week which is nothing i guess compared to your store. we get atleast 7 full time hours allowed meaning 280 mins including and additional 60 for the part times... i feel for you bro but to me it's mainly the fault the person that hires people to work and a part of it would put the blame on the grocery manager bc he should be complaining about not enough stockers. kronos gives an amount of hours each department is suppose to have depending on sales so we could have one week 340 mins and then the next 300 it all depends on sales and projected sales. but if you doing that much business 3-4 million a month thats pretty damn good but you should have more help. talk to your grocery manager about it.

You guys must be crazy stocking at kroger is the easiest job ive ever had, i work at a store here in michigan we are the #1 store in michigan we have double trucks on SAT. TUES, AND THURS, the trucks are arounds 1200-1500 pieces, we have 7 people on double trucks and 5 on regular trucks you go down your aisle and put stuff on the shelf anything on the lower three shelves you spot on the ground then when your done with everything on the upper shelves you sit on a blue milk crate and put the lower shelf items up while racking the shelves no bending up and down on your knees dosnt get much easier in my opinion, at my store i get to listen to my mp3 player and do my own thing nobody bothers you its peaceful

nightstock at our store sucks. I have been with kroger 3 yrs as a nightstock clerk and we had a total of 9 people on our stock crew(6-7 stocking per night) with 1500-2000 trucks. Now, we have lost 4 employees and stocking trucks with a stock crew of 4-5 people with 1200 - 2000 trucks. Its seems like now management is pushing for 4 people to stock shelves(17 aisles) every night, its friggin insane.

Our store manager promises he wont kill us with a small crew and get more employees in but that was promised months ago and guess what....we still havent got anyone hired in. Im so sick of being lied to, kroger is making me turn into a very hateful person and Im not that way. But my family is noticing that I have changed for the worse and I dont want to be this way but damn a small crew, big trucks, lies, call ins and people on vacations kill the team.

But of course no jobs here so I cant escape

In the same boat. I was originally hired to work frozen but we are understaffed so they recently decided to start working me 4 hours in frozen and 5-6 hours on grocery. I don't mind the extra money but my psyche is taking hits. Night shift in general feels like its killing me, but no one else is hiring and at my store it is impossible to transfer to day shift.

I know it's a really old post, but yes, they will hire people with a past felony, IF you are honest with it upfront.

I always heard that felonies show up on your record as an auto red flag...but...based on someone i know, that can't be true.

Every contract is different, what is your division and someone may be able to help you?

Delta is $7.95 - $10.70(part time)/14.16(full time) + 0.50 an hour for hours worked between 10P-6A.
