1) yes we get paid on a weekly basis 2) It consists of general base knowledge that you'll need to preform your job. Depending on what job you're accepted for. For example: i'm a bagger - mine consisted of learning to lift properly, use a box cutter, how to mop, when to use spill magic vs dry cloths, how things should be put in bags, why meat and fish should not be bagged together, ect. 3) you recieve a kroger brain washing, fill out paper work, have a chance to ask questions, and do computer training. Don't worry it's not too extreme. 4) as part time you get insurance after 18 months and a 5% discount on kroger brand items via your plus card. 5) a safety net. Just think of it like that

First impressions are EVERYTHING you want managers and coworkers to know you are BOTH friendly and hard-working.
You WILL be frustrated about everything. Don't let it get to you.
THE BIG ONE If you are going to miss a day of work always call in 2 hrs before your shift. People who miss work and don't call in are No Call No Show (NCNS) and depending on your contract, that is the easiest way to get in trouble and lose your job. I can't stress this one enough.
Unemployment? you will never get it from working here. If you do lose your job, you will never be terminated (fired), you will be "indefinitely suspended" which is just a fancy way of saying "no unemployment for you"
Keep these things in mind and welcome aboard

As part of a union you receive a load of benefits, and job security. A Union is the best way to ensure your position and fair treatment from your employer.
The fees are for a group to manage your work environment, pay, health benefits, and ensure you a fair employment opportunity.
Look at all big companies since Unions were formed there goal is to dissolve all unions. Why you ask, well without a management company (so to speak) to ensure your rights you'll end up like the employees of Wall-Mart. The health benefits for there employees is to go on welfare no Union, the lowest paid employees for a company that makes Billions per quarter in profit, no Union = companies can treat you like a slave.
If every job in the US was a Union position we as a whole would be better. If you had a job that you worked normal shifts, made enough to live on (not check to check), vacation time, more time for family, and a better quality of life. You would have Union jobs.
