Dress Code

Just wanted to know if this is happening everywhere or not.

A few weeks ago our SM handed us a new copy of the dress code. Basically the exact same as the old dress code except there was a portion left out. The part about male employees being able to wear a button up dress shirt with a tie under the kroger vest. We were told that dept heads would be aloud to wear them still but the rest of us had to wear the blue kroger shirt.

Later that week a manager from another store came by ours and i asked him if the office personel would still be aloud to wear dress shirts. To my surprise he said yes you can wear a white button down shirt under the kroger blue vest. The next day I did just that, and one of the other office personel who had gotten in trouble for doing the exact same thing asked the SM if i was aloud to wear that.

Once again to my surprise she said yes but that i would have to wear a tie with it. However, later that day she came up to me and said "I don't know what i was thinking earlier, but you do have to wear the kroger shirt."

She said it was because we need to look profesional. But honestly, the dress shirts, tie and vest looks 10x more professional.

Does anyone else have this dress code or is this just something our SM came up with

All the regular clerks and employees can wear are the blue Kroger shirts and the black slacks, but some people wear black jeans.
