Managers not taking a Stand
Permalink

Ok I work at a Fredmeyers and since i`ve worked there i have seen alot of things, but what baffles me the most is the lack of how our managers can just sit around and not do anything when they know someone is being bullied and or being harassed by the managers themselves...!

Numerous people in my department work very hard (me included) but some of the -PIC(s) also take part in spreading lies and rumors just so they can stay in the "Clique" and not get the blame put on them

am I the only on who has experienced this or just the first.

I really hate how most of these people just sit by and do nothing- when all the while they know its actually happening- and when others in the past have said anything about it the get in trouble instead- (im not exaggerating)- I don't know what to do any more and even if I  go to the HR manager she also is friends with all of our managers and would more than likely change it up and turn it back on me   no

I really am at my wits end with all of this and recently I found out someone has been spreading rumors about Me!

Any one know what I can do?

What is the rumor about you if you are able to share?

"Buy on rumor, sell on news"  is a stock market expression.

I ignore rumors about me.  If someone wants to know the facts, all they have to do is ask me directly.

I have not been picked on but have experienced the clique that can happen.

We have a newer comanager.  She is snotty and rude to 99% of employees.  Strict is good, obnoxious is bad in a manager.  But, recently, I saw her all lubby dubby with one of the department managers.  Day/Night attitude change in a matter of seconds right in front of my eyes.  I suspect more than a working relationship between them but am not going to start that rumor.  I might imply it in a conversation tho.blankstare

You could try ethicspoint.com if it is as bad as you are posting.  It should provide an anonymous way for you to report what you are seeing to management that is higher up in the food chain.  Don't make this report out of anger or revenge.  If it is creating a hostile work environment with bullying, then corporate management needs to know.

It happens. Not much you can do about it. Me? I'd invite the prick off property to 'discuss things'.

The rumor that I heard anyway was that on of my PIC(s) said that all i do is stand around and do nothing

Where that is a complete and utter LIE!- I work just as hard if not harder that any other person in my department

I also know this is not the first rumor that has been going around about me and I also know there have been worse ones

that have been spread around by other people in my department.

so, furthermore the people who I do know who are spreading these lies and who will make nothing into something

i`m not even going to hardly talk to them any more for their backstabbing habits...

Best thing to do is come in, do your job and avoid the rumor mill.  Don't say things about co workers good or bad.  If people ask if so and so did a good job or not just say everything was fine or not too bad.  These jobs aren't worth the stress.  Don't go up against a PIC, unless they're violating policy big time, they'll get back up from the manager.  Bad PICs always manage to get themselves into trouble on their own.  Just do your job.
