So this one bagger who normally does the weekend cleaning started to complain at one point that since the Mon-Fri bagger didn't have to do lot duty then he shouldn't either. A change was made so the Mon-Fri had to. Was that enough? Of course not. He changes the cart schedule to make sure he won't go out. Well, this happened to me once. I casually remarked to the FES that I was going out to do his job. Went out, didn't care either way to be honest. Found out that the FES had talked to him but he wouldn't listen. Later that day, while I'm at a register, he comes up and says I can do the weekend cleaning. He was off so I told him to go home. Later in the week on payday he comes in to get his check. Once again he approaches me while I'm at a register and this time says he "talked to management to keep me from being fired". Again I told him to get lost. Well, he still got his wish although I'm not doing the weekend cleaning. I swear on everything that's holy that this bagger is a total and complete man-child and I don't talk to him at all.

Just do what your supposed to do on your schedule and don't worry about his job. His job is HIS responsibility. HIS. And HIS alone. If he'd scheduled on lot duty and the hour isn't done. Then HE should take the fall. It's NOT fair that he doesn't pull his weight, and then pisses and moans like the bitch ass man child he seems to be.
And Man Child: if he reads this forum, man up, grow a pair, and quit acting like a bitch, do your damn job like everyone else
Well, it's really easy to tell someone just to focus on their own job and not worry about someone else. But, putting it into practice can be REALLY hard. Why? Because, when your team members slack off, chances are it'll come back to bite YOU instead of the person responsible. You'll take the blame, and the other person will get off scott free. I've seen it happen all the time. If you try and explain how it isn't fair, you'll just get your supervisor(s) angry with you. The fact of the matter is, no one's gonna really care about you except you yourself.

Maybe I'm just a pessimist though.
Nah, you're right. It's Kroger, after all.
Even if it's not your job, they'll hound at you and say that you should've done it anyway.

I feel the same way. Something very minute like getting the biscuits conditioned perfectly may look pretty to you, but mgmt doesn't care. But if you one day accidentally forget, you end up with a big fat CA on your file.
