Bitchy Customer Service!!

Ok so in my store if you are called in, you have to have a person at the customer service desk override for you to clock in.

Tonight I got asked to come in for a couple hours because of that buy one get one free cookie sale they have been flipping out over. So I come in, and there's one person at the desk. There's one customer she's dealing with, and the other person, who is the FE manager, is over bagging someone's groceries, essentially being the most overpaid bagger in the store.

So I wait patiently for the one girl who's at the desk to be done and she comes over to me and says in a real snotty tone, "why didn't you ask D to clock you in?" and i'm like "well she's over there bagging for someone right now", and she's like "so you thought you'd bother me instead" and she wasn't joking at all, she was dead serious. Like what the hell? I get that it's the first of the month but you really have no right to be so bitchy when guess what...OTHER DEPARTMENTS HAVE IT ROUGH TOO! AND... we don't get "Side help" coming up to help us either!!

Like I come in on my day off and as soon as I get there I hear that? Whatever.

Just tell her in a time just as snotty "be thankful, I CHOSE to come in... Or YOU might be doing something other than your regular duties. <bitch>

J/k: but don't let it get you down. Just ignore her snotty tone, or if you really wanna make even more mad, ignore her when she calls for your assistance

Lol yea. ****ing hate 1st of the month because Kroger's scheduling software doesn't realize that all the deadbeats receive new WIC checks. :/

Not to be a smartass, but OP works in the bakery. He doesn't have the 'luxury' of being able to deny the bitchy service desk associate's cries for help.

work the desk the 1st of any month and you'll be just as perky as she was

i've come to the conclusion no one should work the desk more than about six hours alone when it's busy.  you get sick of seeing money, you get sick of ridiculous and snippy customers, you get sick of numbers, you start to doubt yourself whether the customer was doing western union or money order.  Kroger doesn't care but don't you dare mess up!  They've made me work the desk eight hours before a break before or just go without one. no

Hahahaha, sounds like Front End typical monkey business. I have worked four hour shifts before where I did not get a break. Mind you 'get' not 'take' because I assumed at the time I would a) have enough time, after all it's only 15 freaking minutes and b) my FES would ask / remind me to take one. So now I just look at the 'lot schedule and look at my schedule for the day and at one point when I first start or at least an hour in remind them about my break. I am patient enough to let others go before me because I have been there long enough to know that not every courtesy clerk works the same scheudule. Ah but wouldn't it be lovely if that were the case. But that would not be Kroger. They let a computer do their decisions and thus the bullcrap happens. Oh well. As long as I get "my Geico" at some point.

*She actually but you're right, i can't even get my revenge. lol

It's ok though I'm over it already, I think she might have just been having a bad day because I was in there this morning shopping and she said hi and she asked what I was buying for her (joking of course) so i guess it was just first of the month taking a toll on her.

I was just trying to make a point that all departments have it rough at the beginning of the month, not just the FE. :P

Personally, I think they need to have  a separate line for Western Union.   Those things take forever.

Don't forget all the state laws and federal AML regulations you have to master.

You're nicer than me, the other day a checker did the same thing to me, she tried to joke around the next day (I found out later thats the way she apologizes, and I repaid her snippiness with rudeness, now as far as she's concerned I am a RUDE "jerk" and she will avoid speaking to me unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

My co-worker said I need to work on my attitude sometimes
