At my store and the other Kroger in town they have sushi chefs. Don't know about the store across town, but we've had it since February. Since we got fresh sushi in our deli our OSAT scores and sales have been consistent over the same period the year before. But yesterday the franchise owner of the sushi franchise sold the business and our chef is out of a job. He was a great guy and became a friend to all of us. We even invited him to a birthday party we had for one our co-workers after work one night.
Guess what I'm wondering is, are there any other stores with sushi and have those franchises been sold?
The sushi bars at at least two or three of the Kroger stores around here is owned by the same family. The family members work the stations as kind of like a franchise. They're very friendly though.

Not that I'm aware of in Mid-South. I'm not super tight with the sushi guys, but we get along real well, and they seem to be all related in one way or another. Very cool people, even if I'm a bit challenged by the language barrier.
They operate under their own corporation.. AMF, or something similar. Will post if I see anything change.

The guys that are sushi chefs at store where i am at are cool! i have to laugh a little when i see them come out of the frozen freezer to get their supplies (its COLD in there!) Both of the chefs from what i have seen usually take their breaks/lunches together.
