Always bring a snack when you work guest care. You never know when (or if) you'll get a break. I've seen managers hold someone there for hours on end without letting them out for some fresh air and water. So I guess you'll be like some sort of pet.
I start training in money services tomorrow morning. It seems like a lot to learn. Any tips from anyone to make my first day easier?
Thanks!
Everything the last 2 posters said, with extra emphasis on making sure you do everything the right way, not just any way that works. Also, no skipping steps you may not think important. Messing up like that on the register might just cause an inconvenience for the customer, but in money services, it can violate state or federal laws.
I had a great first day! Western Union was down for 3 hours so I spent the morning cashing in lottery tickets and doing returns. Took some notes, took a break, cleaned up ALOT. I think I'm going to like it.
