So, I got a job offer. The same day I got the job offer, I put my two weeks in at Kroger. (FINALLY) My final week is finally here and I have 16 hours. Two 8 Hour shifts.... I dont wanna go, how much trouble will I get into for just "forgetting" to go into work... ?

Just call them and tell them you enjoyed working with them and you have decided to leave early.  Don't leave them hanging.

It's up to you, but I feel kind of bad for your coworkers. We had a bunch of people quit from our department recently and during their two weeks, a lot of people never showed up on days they were scheduled to work. We were miserably shorthanded and we had to work so much harder. If you liked your coworkers, consider going in. If not, then don't.

They won't call your new employer. Kroger is a revolving door. If you care about your own work ethics, finish it out. It's just a couple of days.

I would finish out your shifts. We had a bastard walk out on us in the middle of his shift with a full cart of lunchmeat on the floor. He gave us a 2 week notice and pulled that stunt.

He found another job making $12 / hr whereas he just got full time and insurance. Well a week later the guy tells him and three others they aren't needed anymore and let them go

. Hes been out of a job ever since and has tried to get us to rehire, but is a firm "no". Dont ever burn your bridges. You may has to cross over it again someday.

we had an overnight person give two weeks and quit the next shift.  seriously wth?  why bother giving two weeks notice if you're going to pull a stunt like that.

Er, Kroger really doesn't "do" burned bridges.
Kroger would use a cheap labor force to build the bridge then write everyone up for forgetting to thank everyone for crossing it.

Except, management would be reluctant to hire someone they KNOW will give them headache.

Or some other times, management wouldn't want to hire someone they've worked so hard to get rid of. xD

I called in to explain and they didn't want to hear my "lies" soooo now I am afraid to go get my check in fear that management will chop my head off and keep my last check...

They would be violating the law to keep your check unless you owed them money directly (like with a pay advance or restitution)
