There are certain items that have to be put in those security cases and it was only mentioned to  me thanks to the "great training" at kroger. How do you get those things to lock up do you have to use that magnetic key?

It's the same as if you're opening it. make sure the key is ligned up with the notches on the back of the box and it will allow you to lock and unlock the slider.

If the case is already unlocked you don't have to use the key to lock it back, but sometimes ppl lock them after they open them.

Some boxes will not let you re-lock them without the magnetic key. just sayin'. Depends on what kind your store uses i guess.

I think nightperson is asking about the spiders(flea collars) and liquor cap security locks.

I would look in the Uscan or register 1 drawer for the magnet.

It really does depend on what the store uses.

The store I used to work in had the small/medium boxes with a grey lid. They can be locked without a key.

Then we had the large, tall boxes with a black lid. They needed a key to lock.

Ask any of the cashiers, they can show you how.

A better person to ask would be a supervisor or uscan attendent. 50% of cashiers at my store yell for help anytime an item is locked in a box. It's not that they refuse to learn; our FE turnover is just so high.

Thanks for the help, in the back there is one of the keys. I guess when there is a bit of a break i can grab a case and see how it works.
