I'm quitting after Saturday. No one knows yet, but I'm tired of this hellhole, and I'be decided to put my degree to better use. As I was doing markdowns this morning, I thought "hmm, I wonder what would happen if I went marldown crazy and marked down EVERYTHING in our department." Meh, just a random thought. Of course, I wouldn't do it.

Also, every time that damned ad comes on saying "Are you looking to join a strong, growing company that's a leader in the grocery industry? Kroger is now hiring!", I imagine to myself saying to every customer around me "Don't do it! It's a trap!"

Have a great day people. :)

Yeah, it is a trap!  But I don't mind.

Leave without causing any damage is the best way to move away from a job.  I heard a person in Drug GM quit once and on their way out the door, they pushed every product in an aisle to the back of the shelf.  I don't know what happened to them.

Definitely put your degree to a better use.

Good luck on your future.  I hope you find everything you are looking for.

Cmon now i think you can use "stronger" words than hellhole to describe this place!!biggrin

All the advertisments about working for Kroger are to pull people in. Yet as many find out its not worth making a career out of it unless you want to "lose your damn mind"!

I would use the RF unit to order 5 times what we normally need and then watch them try to figure out where they're going to put it all.

Do it! They think they can insult people and crush people's spirits and do just whatever they want... Damn leaving on a high note...Did they employ you or manage you on a high note??? Kroger overcharges their customers and bullies their own employees. They create seperatism amongt employees and horrible working conditions. Mark every thing u can down to the lowest terms. And knock over a few products and leave all the water running in every restroom you can. Why be nice to those that are NOT nice to you and treat you unjustly? Damn them! Quit on a high note and stick it to the man. That is the way to do it. And feel Great about it! That's the way to be capable of moving on past this corrupt company. I'm telling you what I know not what I think... Kroger is not a company of professionalism. But, its your choice. Give the PEOPLE a break...A Price Break dude. Trust... It is necessary... Enough is enough from Kroger... Disclaimer: lol this is only my opinion and not a representation of the Kroger stores company. However all words in this comment are factual and true.lol

What is current position?  What's your degree in?  good luck, I hope you have a job lined up its tough out there!  10-15 years an assistant  manager job in a grocery store may have been looked down on (and maybe still is?) but in today's market top students from top schools are competing to get into entry level management/management trainee programs like Kroger offers to become a co-manager.

You might be shooting yourself in the foot and burning a bridge if you don't gave anything lined up and quit without notice..

A bunch of business majors may be competing for MD1 spots, but if you have a degree in engineering or have a trade license then you can really make money.

You can make a lot of money with a business degree too, with the right company career...  But it's not like every engineers is also in career they deserve!  I'm sure not everyone went to school for business and the engineering field also felt the economy and is also still recovering.
