I'm new, but I've worked for Kroger previously. I am trying to figure out what is going on. I was hired in for one department, then told I would not get hours, transferred by HR to another department, and now I'm being told again I would not get hours and I haven't even started working yet (just done training). My first day will not even be in my department, but yet another department, and I was told that I am to be on call for hours for the department I am listed in now. I know that they did a massive hiring campaign recently, but this is ridiculous. Anybody ever heard anything like this before?

Our store is open from 6 am to midnight. No way I would be on call. You will probably get some hours in a few weeks with the holiday coming up.
