Deli/Bakery Hours cut on Thanksgiving week?!

Well the deli/bakery dept. I'm in is down to only 8 people between the two with the people we had quit this week.  Yet with this the department managers were forced to cut 20 hours off of next weeks schedule.  Seriously WTF are they smoking?  And to beat all one of the guys still there comes in hours late all the time and managers do nothing about it, one person who worked there before couldn't pass the background check, and another former employee who was looking to come back isn't being allowed to because the last manager we had coded him as ineligible for rehire though he gave a 2 weeks notice.

Add to this the managers are complaining about all the holes in the shelves, saying we need to fill them up even though we don't have the help to get it done.  Were lucky to get 3 people a day in either department.

Well rant over I think!  LOL!

In my store, a lot of other departments hours are getting pulled and given to front end.

Hopefully they don't try anything janky as hell like that with us. Our deli struggles to get closing things done because the day shift hardly cleans up after themselves, so there would be day shift's garbage to clean up AND ours. We lost a couple of people in the past week, so we can't afford to lose more hours, especially during a holiday rush.

Our dairy is 60 hours underscheduled meat is 48 underscheduled deli is underscheduled 25, Front end is missing about 20 in my store. So many people have quit because of this new co manager making everyones life a living hell if they don't go by the book

Front end short by 20... Hehehe. Just wait until the slew of callouts. Then you'll *really* be short more like 35-40 hours PER DAY.

Sounds a lot like my Front End Manager.
I posted a day or so ago about how we just lost a U-scan girl because the FEM got onto her about wearing a jacket in the store even though the cold air rushes right in to that area. Even if her jacket wasn't regulation, she should have been allowed it until she could bring a different one in the next time she worked. I wasn't there, but our FEM is a tight ass, a hard ass, a bi-tc-h, nobody really likes her and she claims 20 + years with Kroger. She makes our new FE employees uncomfortable and I personally avoid bagging for her if it's possible because she always has something to say about it. She has no problem telling you off on what you did but has a problem with you trying to give your side of the story. Doesn't like you making any kind of a scene but has no trouble calling you across the store or talking to you where customers can hear her talk to you. Complains about gobacks but dumps entire black carriers into a shopping cart without looking. She is horrible and I would have no problem personally saying she is part of the reason our Front End is so screwed up.

Eight people in the entire deli/bakery department?  I'm not sure how many we have but the deli schedule takes up 2 1/2 pages and there's 10 people in the bakery department alone.

There's like 12 people in my store's deli and 7 in my department and we're a small sales store, I can't imagine running both deli and bakery with 8 people.
