21 hours a week before holiday?

Cut our hours but hire new people? Blow smoke up my ass constantly. I love my fellow department associates, and my department manager, but all upper management creep me out.

When a manager can't spell clearance or management correctly I have mini break downs. When I'm told with my HR degree and work ethics I will go somewhere in this company, I tend to drink excessively, and often. OF course I need a second job to do that too.

Also, if you have no family to support and live with mommy and have transportation, shut the hell up and get another job or quit. I can use your hours that you spend in the bathroom making up your face.

Looking for a second part-time is gig is impossible when management schedules you days and nights. I'd kill myself, but can't afford to be buried. I could go on but I'm seriously drunk now.

Kroger really isn't worth all the stress. I'm going to try to work for Costco eventually.

Haha, I'm looking for a part-time job over the winter break, and Kroger is NOT at the top of my list.

Maybe if you had a better attitude and weren't a drunk things would be better.  You just started at Kroger, right?  You have 21 hours, that's about right for as long as you've worked for the company.  I've been there 3 years and I only have 31 hours this week.  You are part time and part time is part time. Instead of trying to find another job or do your best at the job you have, you choose to drink.  How's that working for you?

I'm part time and have 21 hours this week, and 26 next week.

It kind of sucks but hey it's better than nothing.

Management needs to get over people having second jobs.  The second people start talking about it management schedules people randomly and five days a week for twenty something hours.  They days of kroger paying well with good benefits are over.  The least management can do is treat people fairly.

I don't mind getting 28 hours.  I'm on the bottom rung of the seniority list in my department, so it's lucky if I do get them (there were a couple of times where I was scheduled for  less than 20).  But I would rather have 3 8-hour shifts than 5 oddly-scheduled shifts.  It leaves for little wiggle room for much else (including a second job).

You're right about that.  They won't give people enough hours for them to survive but as soon as they take a second job they start playing mind games with schedules to try to make them quit because the person is now seen as a "problem."  It's shameful.

I've been there 13 years and my hours just got cut to 20 hrs a week. Can happen to anyone who's not full time. I'm already trying to get a job at Costcos. It's the new grocery "it" job.

Costco's selectivity makes Yale look like a community college in comparison.

I think most who work for kroger learn to not put them on the top of any list including jobs!

I got a second job and restricted my hours to only certain times of day. When the scheduler tries to put me in at times i have restricted I call in. Screw them. I work just enough to keep insurance and couldn't be happier.

They can't fire me or write me up for it either. If they try then I'll laugh all the way to the bank.

Wow, you are truly a MORON. Sarcasm went right over your head. I do not drink. Even if I did I could not afford it. I am old school, I pay my own way and take care of my kid first. I get why you are still part time at Kroger. BTW: 30 hours is part time also duh. 21 is b.s. before Christmas.

I love me some BAGBOY! Yep, the idiot that responded to my post likely has a partner/husband/wife. I do not..20 hours does not pay the rent or buy food. My point was taken by others with an I.Q. thank you. I need to work another part-time job to make it, but KROGER will not assist me with scheduling.

Wow, that sucks.  At least drinking was an excuse for your behavior, now we find you are just like that naturally.  You knew this was a part time job when you took it and all you do is complain that they won't give you what you want.  I know what part time and full time hours are.  I like working part time, it's my choice.  I could have worked full time and I chose not to.  I have better things to do than work at Kroger.

If I'm the "idot" you talking about, yes I do have a husband.  I didn't make him leave me like you did yours LOL!
