No, w2 express does not use your kroger login information. It uses your social security # & birthdate. The default username is your full social and password is the last 4 of your social followed by your birth year. It is not dependent upon employment. If you were employed at any point during the year you will have a w2 in their system. It's not a kroger thing, most big companies use it to streamline w2 distribution.

Thanks!
Hmm... so consenting to an electronic W2 means I won't be getting a paper copy.
I'm a physical/paper person when it comes to documentation, so I'm probably just gonna wait until the end of the month.
Though I should ask the more experienced people: is there any advantage to either waiting for a paper version compared to just getting it electronically? Can I file my tax report online with just an electronic W2 (and not have to go to a tax prep person)?
(yeah, we were never taught this stuff during compulsory education)
As far as I'm concerned the only advantage to getting an electronic W2 is saving a piece of paper. I do all my taxes online with TurboTax. But yeah, they don't have to be out until the end of January. I know it's nice to get your taxes done ASAP, but you have till April 15th anyways.

The electronic version is actually only accessible if you consented to electronic delivery prior to 1/13/15 anyway, so there's not much of an option for ya unfortunately. :P
I just printed out my electronic one for record purposes, it's literally the same as the one you'd receive in the mail. Also it has the luxury of being able to be automatically imported into Turbotax so you won't have to fill in any forms for it.

I was under the same impression about the date, since that's what was posted with the rest of the info, but I've had multiple workers who signed up the night before last and were able to get their w2, so it may not have been a hard deadline.

Ah that may be the case. I tried to help a co-worker get his on the 19th and he was unable since he had not consented earlier. I assumed that was a hard date because of it.
