If some one on probation accidentally does a no call no show will they be fired. It was an honest mistake got there days off mixed up. Took Monday when it should have been tuesday. Went back to work and was told they were suspended for 4 days. Is that immediate termination?
No call no show on probation usually means termination. Depending on how desperate they are they may simply wait until they have more people hired. Some managers will wait until probation is almost up before they fire people. Start looking for another job.
Here if you no call no show its a three day suspension and if you do it twice within 6 months you're fired.
it depends. in my position happy to drop people who ncns on probation because they tend to be problems. did that during the holidays, wasn't putting up with it and had plenty of new people to take those hours.
probation doesn't last long enough now that there's training centers so we need to move problems out as quickly as possible.
if it's printed on the schedule, there's no real excuse. we'd have still tried to at least call with a reminder about a half hour into the shift.
if it was written in, some managers will make allowances for some people but not for others which is BS and basically harassment.
It really depends on the individual. At my store, typically a no-call/no-show during the probationary period will have you let go. However, we've had instances of someone who was really liked doing it and only getting a suspension. They really wanted to keep him. He ended up finding a new job anyway.
However, if you've already got a no-call/no-show on record, the best thing you can do for yourself is basically give 110% and show them that you're worth keeping around. Otherwise, if it's anything like my store, you'll likely be let go after the probationary period ends.
If you can't look at the schedule, get a pen and write it down without making a mistake, maybe you need to wait awhile longer before you enter the workforce.

I like that, anon. Especially since at my store, the store manager changes the schedule the day after it's posted every other week, and tells literally nobody.
Just an update, yes it was a term. Just seems so extreme for a first offence that was honestly a mistake. And yes her sched would be changed after posting without notifying. Oh well I'm not surprised by much of anything Kroger does anymore. There's no rhyme or reason and the rules are on an individual basis. :(
At my store the schedule is posted by noon on Friday. We have until noon on Saturday to trade shifts, claim shifts, make adjustments etc. The FINAL schedule is done at noon on Saturday. Any changes made after noon on Saturday must be approved by the EMPLOYEE and management has to ASK them. I've mine changed before without them telling me so I contacted my union and they said work the schedule I had and don't go in for the changes. Nothing they can do. I take a picture of the final schedule with my cell phone for proof. Nothing they can do.
