Hiding hours

So I have an idiot CSM who hides hours. She schedules people as file clerks but they have never did the job before. She schedules baggers as cashiers and vice versa. She schedule other people in the front end to admin support. All of these people are just regular cashiers and baggers. Can she get in troubled for this. If I am being scheduled as a file clerk I want the file clerk pay.

When she schedules courtesy clerks as cashiers, do they actually run the register or do their courtesy clerk job?  Our comanager used to make the courtesy clerks run the register which is against our contract.  They filed a grievance and she had to promote two of them to cashier.

I get schedule in floral and drug/gm all the time and end up on the register.  They do it to me all the time.  They come to floral and tell me I have to work on the register for 4 hours for the rest of the day.  She even made me leave flowers out of water.  I had about 4 or 5 empty bucket with no water and she just told me she didn't care about floral, leave it and get on a register.

E-Schedule may be partially at fault here.  It may want to schedule people one way when your CSM knows her way is actually more efficient.  For example, I work in the bakery department.  I am often scheduled as a cake decorator.  I am not a cake decorarator.  The bakery manager will let E-Schedule put me down as a cake decorator and then she'll have me do something else.  Another person will be written in as a cake decorator.

she is also helping you if you want hours. if she didn't do that then you wouldn't get much hours. she has to go by how many hours each job has.

all front end jobs (bagger, cashier, file clerk, drug gm, floral) have the same pay unless youre a lead or department head.

"File clerk pay"

lol

You know, you're more than welcome to decline and forfeit those hours. Just sayin'. I mean, it's not like there's any particularly good reason as to why people are being scheduled "outside" of their job description. And it also not like there's any cuts in hours. Nope, none at all.

*nods*

Our floral gets called up for bagging at least once per day, if not more than that, and I have seen them on the register once.
We have a dairy guy that is trained on register so he has been called up too...grocery has done it as well.

She's not hiding hours.  She's using the hours she's been given.  Each pool has a certain number of hours.  To appease eschedule they get put in as those things and then uses people as she sees is needed.  Other depts might horse trade & loan hours, we've done that.

But by all means, if you don't want those hours...

they all have the same pay. different raises but that's it.

The only time file clerk has different pay is if they are scheduled before store opening or before 6 am.

That's not true for my store or my union.  Courtesy clerks don't get raises, they get minimum wage forever.  Cashiers get more per hour and raises.  File clerk lead get premium for night shift.  Others who help out as file clerk a few days a week get their regular rate of pay, no night premium.  Courtesy clerks are courtesy clerks only, they are not allowed to do any other job for any length of time for any reason.  If they do and they get caught (the store) they get an immediate promotion and pay raise.

Worse case sinaro the dept. Gets hrs cut back for profit margin, my boss does the same. The hours have to be justified and some times krogers fuzzy math doesn't give enough hours. I've worked front end and stock. Front ends like a war zone at peak times of the day and night stock is like a magyver tv show, get 80 hrs of work done with 7 people and by the way 😊 one of the 7 just called in. No over time by the way your productivity sucks through the eyes of management, come on magyver lol.
