I'm giving my two weeks notice.  Yea!!!  I need to find out if I have any vacation time, change my availability for less hours, call in sick a few days etc.  You know they are going to try to screw me.  If I give two weeks notice they will probably say I'm not eligible for rehire for some reason, make it my fault.  That's how they are.

They didn't answer my grievance so it went to step 3.  I'm not waiting around and dragging this out any longer.  I'm tired of the harassment.  This part time low paying job isn't worth it.  I have an attorney from a coworker that she is using for an injury and the harassment she went through.  She walked out yesterday morning, got fed up.  I'm next.  But I will give two weeks notice, not that it will do any good.

Oh, I finally got a glove.  Two fricken sizes too big.  Wow, thanks Kroger.  I may not even go to work today.  I need to write up my resignation letter.  My daughter was in the ER all day yesterday so I may just stay home, get her meds for her, type up my letter, watch a movie.  You know, have a nice day instead of going to hell.  I mean Kroger.

Good for you
If I could find another job I would get my ass out of this company ASAP.
It's rough with the low pay, ridiculous scheduling and demanding labor.

And your Kroger gives gloves?
You must be in one of the colder areas.
Here in the Atlanta market we are lucky to be provided those cheap $3 ponchos that are no better than shower curtains for when it rains.
All my rain gear is provided by me and my flimsy gloves are provided by me.
Nearly eleven months and only one shirt. It has a tear in it. Bleach stains. And the front is full of multiple tiny holes from my nametag.

She had a knife injury a few weeks ago at work.  The glove is to prevent cut injuries probably similar to the wire mesh gloves the meat slicers are supposed to wear when using the slicers.

Just quit. I've seen your other posts and you've dealt with a lot.  Either give them short notice (like the end of this week) or call in and say your quit.  Don't drag it out.

I just got back from Kroger.  Here's my resignation letter:

Dear Manager:

Due to the continual harassment from comanager, I am leaving Kroger effective today.

I've enjoyed working for Kroger for the last 3 1/2 years and would like to return someday, but at this time I am not willing to work under comanager.

I would have liked to have given you more notice but I feel my safety, happiness and well being are more important at this time.

Hopefully I will still be allowed to shop at your store without being harassed by comanger.

Signed my name, dropped if off with the huge glove they gave me and bought some cigs and left.  Sent a copy to union and Kroger Corporate and I am contacting an attorney first thing tomorrow morning.

My union rep called me when I got home, he said he just talked to the store manager and had them rip up the write up I got for not wearing the glove they never told me about or gave me.  I told him thanks, I quit, end of conversation.

Whole Foods is hiring, $10 an hour.  Not sure if I'm up to grocery anymore.  I'm a licensed esthetician so I may go back and work in a nice calm relaxing spa environment.  Those ladies tip good!  Of course you do have to have the clients lol!

Hang in there Slave, you too can make it out!  You just have to make up your mind and do it!  There is a way out, look for it, it will come to you I promise!

I would get hold of the District Manager and fill their ear with your reasons for departure. Pitch that beeotch 'manager' under as many wheels of as many buses as you can.

Ah, I had forgotten about that one.
Still, just now getting the glove?

Yea, I would probably whine about that too.

For a company that promotes safety so damn much they sure seem to practice very little of it.

I'm sad to hear that you quit. Not for you, I'm happy for you. I'm happy that you'll move on and find something better. But I'm sad that this company makes the good employees who care about their job quit, due to the tactics they use.

The DM is the one who emailed the manager and told them to write me up for not wearing a glove.  She didn't know how badly they had failed at safety, training etc.  Just write her up is all she said.  She is NOT getting a word from me.  Well, let me think, I might give her a call and just mention that my union rep made the manager tear it in half and throw it away lol lol lol!!

Going to contact an attorney tomorrow morning.  I was referred to them by a comanager who is suing Kroger for an injury and their harassment of her.  Well I'm joining in.  Power in numbers.  I've talked with a friend of mine who quit Kroger a few months ago and she may retain this attorney too.  She wasn't put on light duty, she kept telling them over and over she couldn't work in the bakery, she was pregnant, her doctor said no and they just kept saying ok, we will get you out of here.  Day after day she complained, same story from management, ok, we will.  They never did.  She quit and lost her baby the next day.  So yeah, f%@* Kroger.  Three of us so far, I'm going to contact a few other ex employees and see if they know of any other injuries, unsafe working conditions, harassment from people who have quit.

I was going to call the head honcho at Kroger they send the grievance too, but I'll let my attorney handle that. If he takes my case.  Which he probably will.  Kroger has a lot of money, we all know that.  My main reason isn't money though, it's getting the comanager fired or worse.

I forgot to sign in.  Correction, it was our SRS who was injured and gave me her attorneys name, not a comanager.

I went shopping this afternoon and bought 5 new shirts and a cute jacket.  What the hell.  Burn through the money, worry about another job later.  LOL!  I needed some shopping therapy.  Then I dolled up and went to Kroger to get some BBQ sauce and give everyone a hug, most don't know I'm even gone.

Deli girl quit last week, walked out.  SRS quit Monday, walked out.  I walked in today and quit, walked out.  I'm seeing a trend starting.  I like it.

Sorry for the typos if I missed some, I'm on my husband's laptop with Windows 8.  I hate Windows 8, all the screens keep popping in and out, then I get stuck on a page and can't get out of it.  It's so sensitive.  Then when I want to bring out the search from the sidebar, I click and click and click and it does nothing.  If I don't want it, it keeps popping out.

Going to go read The Martian.  Best book I've read in a long time.  Didn't think it would be so funny.  Ridley Scott bought the movie rights.  It's such a good book if any of y'all read.  Need some laughs right now.

Windows 8 is designed primarily for tablets. You're using it wrong if you're "clicking" on stuff.

Good to hear you moved on after all that BS you went through! As far as people quitting people can only take so much and move on.

As for me there is light at the end of the tunnel!!biggrin

I was injured 8 months ago and my complaint is Kroger hasn't paid the dr or hospital bill yet and they seem to want to come after me.

Yep, they tend to do that if "you don't work enough hours". It's stupid... they continue to take the money from your check every week but refuse to pay.

As for you, Ms. White, I'm sorry to see you go but glad to hear that you're much happier. I'd have turned to alcohol or something just to keep from going insane! I wish you the best on your next journey~

Give that bitch CO all the hell you can provide! Maybe you can get placed in a room with no cameras and such, if you get what I mean!

They reserve "no rehire" or what is also called a "code 6" and "red flag" for highly insubordinate employees. But it doesn't mean you can't come back. The hiring manager can have the DM overturn it within reason.

I'm on a laptop not a tablet.  I have to "click" the enter key etc. You can't slide stuff across the screen on a laptop.

Good for you, Ms. White. Could you send me the name, address, and phone number of your attorney, either posted to this thread or in a pm to me? I got terminated back in July. It was complete BS but I can't seem to find an attorney here in the Denver, CO area willing to take my case on a contingency basis and sue Kroger for a wrongful termination without a huge up front retainer fee, which I don't have.

That's my next concern.  I told the hospital it was an on the job injury and they said they don't do the paperwork, they would send the bill to me and I could give it to Kroger.  One problem, if Kroger isn't going to pay in a timely manner, it will go against my credit.

$1,800 for an ER visit.  AND I didn't even see a doctor.  Nope, just two nurses.  Didn't even get a bandaide.

It's a local attorney in the DFW area that handles injury claims.  The harassment is just icing on the cake.  Do an internet search for Kroger lawsuits and see what you come up with, there are several.  My injury was caused by negligence on Krogers part, then the ensuing harassment that followed if why I'm hiring an attorney.  The other Kroger employee was also injured on the job.  A manager was on a ladder and threw a 24 pack of water down on her and it hit her shoulder.  Idiot.  I mean, who does that?
