In our division they gave employees 1,000 fuel points this past week. Random customers would get 500 fuel points. Cue the bitching on Krogers facebook.
"The dumb teenage cashier shouldn't get 1,000 if i can't even get 500!! i was a loyal customer for 50 years i'm no longer shopping here!!!"
our gas here is around $1.80. it's already cheap as ****. **** off.
had a lady ask why she didn't get the 500 fuel points. told her it was random. she started yelling and screaming. lady i can't do **** about it.
I ended up not telling any customers that they got 500 fuel points, just told them how many they had for the month.
Got my 1000 points yesterday thank goodness. Glad I got them before I quit. Problem is, my car has a fuel leak. I can only put about a 1/2 tank of gas at a time in it or it leaks everywhere. I have around 1,550 fuel points for January so far. Guess I will give some to my daughter or the neighbor across the street.
Yeah we were told it is not a random thing..... The way I understand it is the best customers only that get them... And they have to shop with us at least once a month and get fuel from us at least once month... I sure there is more to it than that but I know for sure...
This is one reason why my Front End Manager can not influence me, no matter what dumbass behavior she engages in or how our Front End looks or is at the time.
See, I have a car. But I need to get it repaired. And the repairs are going to cost at least $1,000.
There is no way in hell I can save that much up with Kroger and they know it.
Since I don't have a working vehicle at the moment, I bicycle or walk. Usually bicycle but if it's raining...
My point?
I can't be bought with fuel points. Ever.
Not until I am back behind the wheel of a car again and unless I find a second job that isn't going to happen while I work for Kroger.
So trying to 'motivate' me with a customer survey response or the possibility of random fuel points or double fuel points or whatever related to fuel points........doesn't work on me.
Period.
I just do the best I can, which is never good enough at Kroger.
But I do sometimes grin at the idea that this company can't buy my loyalty the way they try with so many others.
Would I like fuel points? Sure, give me all the fuel points you can spare. But since I don't have anyone else who can use my card, and don't have a car, good luck buddy.
So, I hear its for a one time use only for up to 35 gallons then it will drop off. So I'm lining up me and my mom's car at the pump since we both only have 15 gallon tanks also going to take a couple gas cans.
In Cincy/Dayton, every employee with the text alerts got 1000 free fuel points. I used 200 of them yesterday.
Any customers who want to bitch about it can take their plus card and shove it for all I care. Entitled idiots would turn the one thing we actually get from that company into something negative, I'm not surprised.
Earlier today, an associate at my store in Central Division got the 1000 pts for associates and 500 pts for loyal customers on the same receipt. Haven't figured that one out yet.
I just filled up my car on sunday too. Since it gets decent mileage and has a big tank I won't need to fill it up for another two weeks. I filled the tank for a little under 20 bucks. Its a nice gesture but I really don't need relief at the pump right now. A year or two ago that would have been nice. Not to mention that Im betting that if you subtract management at the store level less than half the employees have cars. As my father would say "A cheap bet". Some goodwill that most people won't be able to use.
Quick question off subject I ask because some of you may have the answer. Why don't I get in store coupons never and I do all my shopping with Kroger.
You mean the coupons printed with your receipt or the ones mailed to you every once in a while?
I never use the ones printed out with the receipt.
I occasionally use the ones sent in the mail. You should ask the customer service desk to check your mailing address on your Kroger card to see if that is why you do not receive coupons in the mail.

I had to call the number on the back of my Kroger card and ask them to mail me coupons. In my area they don't automatically send them to you, you have to ask for them.

I agree, gas is so cheap right now. I'm sure that's why Kroger decided to give out all the extra fuel points, to entice us all to get our gas at Kroger.

If it's about the Catalina coupons (that print along with your receipt), supposedly Kroger employees are ineligible for them.
If it's about the physical coupons that customers get in the mail (often in an envelope), good question. I get them from time to time. It's important however to make sure that you have a mailing address on file with your Kroger card AND that you allowed them to send you "promotional" material.

I get both from time to time. I don't know what you're talking about.

Oddly, none of our Catalina coupons are printing coupons. I thought it was just one of the machines, but I guess none of them are. A customer asked me today if we do those anymore. I had to answer that I have no ****ing clue. (I used smaller words.) Kind of disappinting, some of those coupons are actually pretty good so I feel good acting enthusiastic about them for the customers. Now I have to be like, "sorry, we're a bunch of *******s, apparently."
I remember when they were doing that promotion where you could get free stuff from the home side for a certain amount of points. We had some idiots sauntering in on the last 10 minutes of the last day of the promotion and getting angry that the shelves were picked clean. How dare we not be fully stocked just for them!
