Store mgr could care less.

We are a very high volume store, our store manager doesn't give two ****s about his employees, and spends 90% of his time texting on his phone. The other 10% consists of him belittling us about osat and how we can raise it, and makes us feel like ****. He's ALWAYS grumpy, and you can never read his expressions, so you never know if it's safe to talk to him. He has never participated in events/gatherings that our store has held. SHAME on the DM and whoever else thought it would be a good idea to place him there. He has been with us for a year and a half. Our store morale has gone down tremendously since he's been here. He has made it clear that he doesn't want to be here. He has NEVER held a dept head meeting, and when they try to get one together, he magically has a reason to cancel it. This used to be a great store, and has only gone downhill since he has come here. There are issues in every dept that NEED to be dealt with, but he does not care. I'm sure this is the case In many stores out there. I hope the VP's and Jayne have a slight clue as to what's really going on in their stores, because if they don't, they need to wake the hell up!! It's definitely not rainbows and roses they see when they go into a store after the employees have spent much OT getting ready for their arrival. It's patheti. Kroger is not what it used to be. Not by a long shot.

Unit Managers can be ignored. You don't have to go them about anything.

The correct term is The Store Mgr couldn't care less. If he could care less, then he would care less even more!!

Fewer huddle Hells would be a blessing in my book.

But, if your cat is really steering the ship onto the rocks, https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/16000/index.html .

Hummm... Trust me if he gets a union (REP) in front of him he will **** his pants I guarantee. Just make sure its legit and it partains to the way he treats his employees and the way he carries himself. Also the following goes a long way. The person who files the complaint should be a woman or of ethnicity, this (WILL) carry more weight.

Nobody at the salaried management level is scared of the union, unless there is a serious scandal like sexual abuse going on. All the union can do is tell the district manager that the store manager is performing poorly. And there isn't a single store manager who is not best friends with their district manager.
