snow storm

Here in Southern WV were expecting anywhere from 14-20 inches of snow.  Our deli closed at 4 yesterday because no one could make it in during the afternoon.  And several people stated they probably won't be in today.  I'm wondering what hassle if any are you are getting if you call in during really bad weather like this?

I've always felt this way about it: If you are legitimately concerned about your SAFETY, then by all means call in. If you just don't want to work then you're being a dick about it. If customers can make it to the store, surely some employees can make it too.

It was day before holiday bad. We got totally wiped out on bread, milk, eggs, canned food, carts, everything. I had to work that sunday and it was one of the roughest days of my life. People came through with $150-300 orders and they just kept coming. At least 5 people that I know of came through with $500-600 orders.

Snowpocalypse 2015!

P.S.: No, I didn't go in. We have at least a foot of snow ON THE ROADS. I couldn't even get the car out let alone drive.

If your store manager is a [insert not-so-nice words here], then they'll give you hassle, but safety first. Would rather lose a person for a day rather than forever.
