Hello all, I work in a fuel center in good old Ohio and I have to say it sucks. Our heat barely works and when it does click on it doesn't stay on for more than 5 mintues and no we do not have a thermostat its broke of course. Our floor is so wet that we literally have puddles of water that we stand it all day! oh and guess what tommrows temperatures are going to be awful. Is there anything I can do about these conditions since we are Union?

I bought a nice space heater for myself for personal and residential usage a few years ago. I only recently started using it again about a month or two ago. It still works well. I bought it from Wal-Mart. I don't recall paying more than $40 for it *but* I believe I paid in the $20 range. You might want to consider doing this for yourself.

I'm no CPA but maybe you could even write it off on your taxes as a business expense, since we are now in tax season (or at least getting close...)

It is not a tax write-off for an hourly employee.  $20 is so small, you wouldn't even notice it even if you could write it off.

If you were self employed, maybe.

OP, if you do get a heater, water and electricity do not mix.  Make sure it is in  a dry spot.

My space heater is ceramic, by the way. I think this is how I can leave it on for eight hours and have no problems at all over heating issues or overheating issues directly.
