I have been working Kroger for the past few mos. I am ready to quit because I have a better job in over a wk. I was told I have to work 2 days a wk at this Kroger to maintain employment. Working 2 days at this Kroger would be stressful because of the distance. I am thankful I have had a job. People have also told me I could work as little as 1 day of work and still remain employed.
It may be better in terms of workload (less workload), but the pay is the same, or a little more, but they still need Kroger to supplement their income.
I work a job that is a lot less stressful and is willing to work with me in terms of hours, but the pay rate's the same as Kroger. I get more hours at this other job, but I can't afford to completely drop Kroger yet. So it's essentially a supplement.
The reason why they say 2 days is because you can work 6 hours each day (equalling 12 hours). I don't think they can go under that per union rules. 1 day would mean a 12-hour shift by this logic, which wouldn't work for you.
You can go under 12, if you and the company agree to it. I have a coworker who is willingly doing 8-10 hours a week (2 4 or 5 hour days) due to a second job.
