If you know you're going to quit, use your vacation time!

Hello all, I have had the beautiful transition from Kro life to freedom and a new job. Unfortunately I found out that the vacation time I would be receiving in my last check would be prorated. So if you know you're going to be leaving, or just plain had enough of the bs lifestyle we're put through at this evil company, USE YOUR VACATION! I can't recommend this enough. I was really looking forward to one last full check, but was greatly disappointed when received. Oh well, on to better things!

I got ALL of my vacation time the next weeks paycheck after I quit Kroger.  Someone at the store told me I couldn't get my vacation pay so I called the corporate office and it was on the next check!  You don't have to use your vacation time, you can still get it if you've earned it even if you leave.  I think the only way we lost vacation pay was if we didn't take our vacation during the year or January of the next year.  Something like that.

most contracts it depends on how your employment is terminated

In our area any vacation that is earned will be paid regardless of reason of termination..

In ours, they don't pay if your termination involved any form of dishonesty.

Ours too, it's probably that way at all stores.
