My question is when you work a shift and you and you have to go back in before 10 hrs they call it short time rest overtime say I work 8 hours is it suppose to be time and half for those 8 hrs if so how does this show up on your check stub...thks
No, it's only overtime for the difference between the required 10 hours and the actual number of hours you had between shifts. For example, if you only had 8 hours off between shifts, the first two hours of your shift would be at time and a half. The rest of your shift would be straight time.

Actually, our contract states that ALL hours worked consecutively post short-rest are overtime. So it depends which division OP is in. It will just show up as normal overtime hours afaik.

Same here except for how it shows up on your pay stub. Here it shows as short rest ot.
but they may try to make you sign something so you wont get any extra $ out of it. IF they asked you to stay not knowing your difference it's their fault. if you ask to stay late/come in early, its yours and you have to sign.

definitely depends on your division, you can work two shifts an hour apart and not get short rest in ATL. the contract says 10 hrs but there's no teeth to it, nothing like short rest OT and they abuse the hell out of it. The union says, "complain, say you need your rest" and kroger will just say "needs of the business" and "you're full time you can't complain you need to work it"
