So, I'm a bagger, and I believe I'm a hard worker if I do say so myself. Passionate.

So, A customer came up to me and asked for a 24 pack kroger with the bigger cap. She was older and the Plastic saving one's too hard to open. She already grabbed a 12 pack and was at checkout. She asked me to look, I looked hard & didn't see one. She was already through the check out line, but I thought I'd make it right! I had a 2nd 12 pack and made the pricing work out to where it was the same as a 24 pack. 24 pk is $2.99. 12pk is $1.99. I gave the 2nd 12 pack for $1.00.

I think I like this make it right! It gives me (a bagger) the power to help instead of saying that nothing can be done. Due to me already being at the front end, I didn't fill out a sticker. I just told the cashier to "make it right".

That's the beauty of this program (in the middle of all its problems) because it empowers individual employees to fix things.

Yup. I like that it allows us to fix things for the 90% of polite/normal customers who have a simple problem, without having to call for "higher ups". It's a shame the other 10% of scammers and liars will ruin that, but I like the idea itself.

It's a very positive program that assumes most people are honest. I don't just mean the customers but also the employees. How many do you think are doing this for friends and family? I'm just saying that it has potential for both greatness and great dishonesty. Only time will tell.

I quickly put an end to one of the scamming customers. They originally wanted a certain kind of bread that we were out of so I gave them something comparable. Next week they found some completely other type of bread that we were out of and wanted something done about it. I was like, "Oh well". I new where that was going to lead and nipped it in the bud.

Word is getting out to the scammers. Another customer, that I recognized from a different store known for it's shady customers, came in and just straight up dared the clerk to give them an item for free. He was young and new and eager to please so he did it. He felt all great about it too so I didn't burst his bubble but my guess was that she used it too many times at her regular store that they finally stopped so she moved on to greener pastures.

My only true complaint about this is that the company is asking each employee to give away $10 worth of product each week but this is the same company that decided giving us a $10 gift card as a Christmas bonus was too much of a hardship. Wish they would value their employees even half as much as they value their customers.

I bought some Klondike neopolitan ice creams bars yesterday.  The strawberry ice cream was nasty, it didn't even taste like strawberry.  Instead of taking them back to Kroger I called Unilever and they are sending me a coupon for a free product, plus some extra coupons for some of their other products.  I will keep the ice cream in my freezer until I receive the coupon in the mail, then I will throw it away.  If for some reason I don't receive the coupons, I will return the Klondike bars to Kroger.

I know I could return them to Kroger right now and get a refund, plus get the coupons from Unilever.  Some people would.

Don't try those Klondike neopolitan bars.  They are nasty.  The strawberry ice cream is a dark dark pink color.  Doesn't taste like strawberry at all.  If I could describe the taste I would, but I don't have words in my vocabulary that would do that taste justice LOL!

I bought ground beef at one Kroger and it wasn't good so I called and asked the Kroger by my house if I could return it there.  They said yes.  They never would have let me return it in the past, I would have had to drive all the way across town and return it to the store I purchased it from.

Another time I had a raincheck from my neighborhood Kroger and was allowed to use it at the Kroger across town.  In the past you were only allowed to use a raincheck at the store that issued it.

I went to Kroger today and found a green silicone colander in the mark down bin with no price tag.  I asked the cashier to price check it for me.  I told her I didn't know if someone just threw it in there or if it was on sale.  Another employee came up and looked at it and said "we'll just give it to you".  Wow!  I just looked it up on line - $19.95.  I wish I would the survey would have printed on my receipt, I was highly satisfied!

Kroger doesn't give a shi_t about its customers.
All the company wants is spend, spend, spend. Preferably as much as possible.
This is not a program to try to get better PR.
This is not a program for employee empowerment.
This is not a program to try to save money.

This is a program to keep the same schmucks happy that come in on a regular basis so they come back again to spend...remember, this is a business first and foremost.
Kroger cares little for its customers. I shall refrain from commenting on the company's feelings of employees. It would take up far too many ones and zeros.

Hey Slave, have you started work at Home Depot yet?

yes, I started today. Still need about a day or so of computer 'training' watching videos...some things never change.
But I am already on payroll and will be trained on the 'lot hopefully on monday morning.

I told one of the two persons who make out my front end schedule at Kroger today about the new job.
I am going to go in soon (as in, probably tomorrow...) and change all availability to mornings. Circa 6 a.m. - noon or 1 p.m.
That would put me at Kroger mornings and Home Depot days.
The two stores are literally across the street from each other.
So I can work both if needed.

Like, tomorrow I am at Home Depot from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. watching videos on the computer.
Then I walk across the street and start work at Kroger, 1:45 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Going to be a long day, but hopefully will give me an idea of how it feels to work two jobs in the same day.
Never held two jobs at once before. Not unless you count freelance, even then they were evenly spaced to get the job done.

I really want to tell Kroger good-bye by mid-Summer.
I really, really do.

Well at least you are going to make some money - hopefully Home Depot will come thru with some hours.  Glad to hear it's looking up for you.  Just forget about Kroger while you are there!  And when you are at Kroger, think about Home Depot LOL!

A store manager at another store told an elderly lady he would follow her home and help put her groceries away because she said they were to heavy for her to lift.  I'm going to do one better.  I'm going to follow someone home and after putting their groceries away, I'm going to fix their dinner.

I'm coming too!  I'll bring candle and wine, and clean up afterwards.  Pick out some mood music!

Having a manager say that is creepy as hell.

Even worse if he actually did it. Or if Kroger would expect employees to do that.
