Does anyone else have a back room that's so cluttered and unorganized that you can't find anything because it's buried, hidden, damaged, or just in a pile of rubble?  Does anyone else think elms is designed for a well maintained, smooth operating, well ran store, and not the fiasco of a back room. does anyone else have a 20%  increase in sales and trucks, but hours are dropped more and more..does anyone else feel like we are expected to be step ford children and does anyone out there have managers and cos not breathing down your neck constantly while intentionally breaking key retailing and 5s standards?

rant over (not really, but hey, enough is enough)

There comes a point where a sales floor may outgrow the backroom. Sometimes they'll knock over a wall and expand. Other times they'll just expect you to make everything magically disappear and shove all your damn pallets wherever they may fit, including in front of an emergency exit... It basically hinges on whether the company thinks the specific store will sustain and increase its same store sales. If people are moving away from that neighborhood, why plunk down $500K for an expansion?

Ohh wow here we go, you got me started haha. The biggest problem is when A grocery or non-foods manager completely disregards the CAO. Trust me, I see it every effing day. I painstakingly work the backstock, scan it and make sure the counts are perfect, adjusting shelf allocations and mins (the number an item reaches at which the computer will order a case for the next load) and so I get it to where all items in the back room are accounted for. So then along comes our a-hole grocery manager to do an order, and instead of trusting the numbers I went through all the trouble of perfecting, rather than believing there's a case or 2 in the back room because the computer says so, he will order just because the shelf looks a little low. This happens even though my crew works backstock at least 3 times a week. Then we work the case to the shelf from the backstock, fill it, and lo and behold, get another case of the same item the next night on the load!! This cycle never ends because the grocery manager won't seem to believe that I do everything I can to do my job 100% correctly. What I have just ranted about is one of the BIGGEST reasons why back rooms look so terrible.
