The store that I work at was supposed to have a remodel. Now 2 weeks before the remodel we're told that it is on hold. they came and measured everything and had the plans. We were telling customers about this and was excited .Since it's on hold I know that means were not getting a remodel anymore. So how much time and money was wasted for them coming up with this plan, just to put it on hold at the last minute. WELCOME TO KROGER!!!
Our remodel was slated for June, they had the engineer out here a few weeks ago and this week they decided to push it back till the end of summer... Which makes absolutely no sense considering that's the beginning of the busy season.
Well I forgot to mention the building to marketplaces. One is 14 miles away from where I live and another 5 miles replacing two stores. I think they're going to go over budget so that's why were not getting the remodel. Maybe they think there might be a staffing problem because they can't staff the stores now and they're building two huge stores. just breathe it's only Kroger
I've been through several remodels during my time at Kroger. Usually it takes a year or more from the time you start hearing about the remodel until the time they actually start it. Talks about our last major remodel and expansion went on for 3 years. The first year you just heard speculation about the remodel. The next year they had the plans but no start date. The third year they finally start after having the projext on hold for a half year or more. The whole thing took a year and a half to complete. They started in January and finished in June the following year.
