I've officially been on the phone waiting for close to an hour trying to call into work sick. No one is answering any of my calls, and I don't have my supervisors number. I've been throwing up since 4:30 this morning (so roughly two hours), and since another person I'm living with has strep or the flu (something that's made her throat red, coughing, sneezing, all that good stuff). I don't want to go in risking being contagious since the last time someone did that it took out all the departments at different times including management. I have no idea if I'm going to get in trouble for being "late"/less than two hours call out, but there's not much I can do short of going in puking on their shoes. Even then I'm 90% sure they'd be asking where's my name tag considering how many times I've been asked to work sick in the past.
I'm not really looking for help. Just to vent about Kroger stupidity that seems hellish especially when i'm sick.
Keep trying to call. You have proof you called on your phone if they get mad. I would always push 2 or 3 for deli or floral and get one of them to page the manager for me. Or I'd call one of the registers and ask them to page someone. They never answer the phone in customer service.
