I swear you would have thought it was the day before Thanksgiving or Christmas as busy as the store was today. The bakery usually does around $17,500 a week. As of Thursday, we were already over $20,000. I wouldn't be surprised if our sales were double what they normally are by the time the week is over. Just be glad that it's just local thing and the whole country doesn't go crazy over the Derby the way they do here.
Did you know Kroger does the roses for the Derby? They had a bunch of Kroger employees on TV last year holding the roses and showing them. I missed the Derby yesterday. What did they buy at the bakery?
None other than derby pies of course! I don't really care for them. I just feel really bad for anyone working in the store that makes the garland. Gotta dodge the non-customers, media, rentacops, jeff county sheriff, lmpd, and all the cinci goons who dropped in for a morning and had to leave right after so they make it back in time for lunch. I occasionally shop in that store and it's nearly impossible for GM or other departments to work their truck due to the amount of stuff going on.

I guess we don't care too much about derby pies here in Texas lol! We do have our own racetrack though. Biggest thing they do is bury a diamond ring on the track and all the ladies in high heels tipy toe around out there and dig for the ring. It's called .......... The Diamond Dig! I think they wear big ugly hats too.
