Vacations and Hypochondriac Employees

Anyone here seem to have to constantly postpone vacation time due to hypochondriac coworkers, who just happen to decide they're fatally ill 2 weeks before every vacation you try to post? How does one deal with that?

do not have that problem. Have mine scheduled and approved in January, according to the contract. management can not change it , then, unless approved by me and the union. They tried this on my with inventory and a call to the union solved that issue.

Go on eschedule and put in requests as far out as possible. Even before I left, I had already requested certain days off up to the end of 2015. They know enough to not schedule me opening weekend of deer season anyway.

The only time I've ever postponed a scheduled vacation was when another employee in my department had a family reunion planned with her family down in Central America.  Something like that takes a lot of planning and it has to be done when everyone can get together.  If somebody just wants to take the same week that I do and go somewhere, then they're out of luck.

Of someone decides that they are seriously "ill" with the "deadly" ' Not a real illness' disease, I go on my vacation regardless. I put in for it off first. Thereforey vacation supercedes your fake illness.

Take 2 m&m pieces and refrain from calling me in the morning.
