The other day I went upstairs early in the morning and saw our two women co managers huddled around a computer and I knew it was going to be an long day.

Based on observations of the 2 new managers we had while I've been working (one male, one female), the female managers have to prove that they can change the store. Or at least that's how it seems.
And that, management_drone, is WHY female managers "try too hard". Because no matter what they do in life, some people just see them as a damn sex object.
In 8 years at Kroger, I found out the secrets to promotion:
Be a cute blond who can suck start a tractor, and make sure the right people know it.
Know how to kiss ass, and who's ass to kiss
Be a bro/buddy to someone higher up.
It's pretty much the rule of life.
