I recently started as a courtesy clerk at Kroger. It has been nearly two months since I first started working, and I believe my supervisor has finally crossed the line. I have been working my tail off in attempt to make sure that he/she (trying to remain anonymous) will stop pestering me about not doing anything. I asked all of the other courtesy clerks and cashiers for advise on how to be a better employee, but they all say I'm doing to good to criticise! My supervisor called me to the side and very clearly told me that "If you cannot get it together I will take you to the manager and have you fired, or you're going to quit!". He/she is also very big on telling everyone everything, so it's been kind of rough for me lately. I recently found out that he/she has already contacted the manager on multiple occasions, whom refuses to fire me on account of my customer relationship skills. Today at work one of the cashiers told me that my supervisor got a group of employees together for the sole reason of telling them that I am a terrible courtesy clerk, and that he/she is going to give me the worst schedule until I quit. Has he/she crossed the line? Should I make my manager aware of the situation? Is this what I have to look forward to for the next 50 years of my career? Thanks for the help! (I refused to contact the union straight up, it seemed like it would be a little undermining to the person whom is saving my job, but that's what my associates recommended)
Go to the Manager as well as HR. Explain to them exactly what is going on. Don't say the supervisor is being rude, use the word Harassment. They're Harassing you and trying to get you to quit. If they don't address it, then go to the Store Director and explain it to them, and make it clear that you don't want to go to the Union and get them involved, but that you're willing to if they won't handle the Supervisor's Harassment.
It doesn't sound like an issue you can ignore, so you have to be proactive and go above the Supervisor. Start out going to the Manager and HR (together if possible), and if that doesn't address it, go above them and make it clear you're willing to contact your Union Rep at that point. If they still refuse, then follow through and get your Union Rep involved. It's either that or you just continue to deal with it and hope it goes away on it's own.
Ok, so she told you to "get it together" and told employees you were a terrible courtesy clerk. She hasn't told you anything specific, what you need to improve on. She has been harassing you and you do need to talk with management. If she says anything to you again, explain to her that you consider her words and actions harassment and you want her to stop. You should also get a statement from as many employees as you can, this will help you when you file a grievance. Keep track of dates, time, who she spoke to, what she said.
As far as her getting you fired, she can't do it. She is threatening you. Hopefully they will demote her, she doesn't need to be in a supervisory position.
One more thing, try to position yourself next to another employee when you see her coming, that way you will have a witness to her harassment. Or tell her you will not talk to her about your job performance without a union rep present. That is your right.
This is definitely harassment and will not be tolerated in any workplace. Do not be afraid to "tell on him". Go straight to the manager and tell him that the supervisor is borderline harassing you. All you have to do is use the word "harass" and they have completely separate paperwork to fill out for that exact issue. Like the other guy said, if your manager won't help you then go to your Union rep. You will not get in trouble for going to the Union. You do not need to take his sh*t, period.
is this person a floor supervisor or your actual front end supervisor? if he/she is your floor super they cannot do **** and they dont make the schedule. if its your front end supervisor (or CSM whatever) you will have to go over them to one of the store's co managers or store manager. Or even the HR rep.
. . . have a witness to her harassment. . . . tell her you will not talk to her about your job performance without a union rep present. That is your right.

It has to be a woman. Only a woman would be that bitchy and that catty. If it's a guy, then he's definitely a queer.
LMFAO Does the term "hostile work environment" mean anything to you? On the off chance that you aren't just trolling, let me tell you, your "supervisor", who I assume you mean head cashier, can get her ass canned for pulling systematic harassment like that. That opens up the company to liability. Tell your manager that her harassment is beginning to affect you emotionally as well as your ability to do your job well and confidently.
If your working in a Union shop, talk to a Union shop steward and let them talk to management. Always try to solve problems at the store level first, if that doesnt work..contact the union and let them take care of it.
