I love the ones where people complain about sale items not being in stock...I want to respond by saying "well lady, the reason it's out of stock is because it's on sale for $X and we've sold out of all we have and the warehouse has ran out because they've been drained by the stores!  It's not our store's fault, dumbass!"  get a damn rain check and shut the **** up

"Peeper beeyags pleese!"
"What's with the attitude?!"
"Can you please hurry? I was supposed to be at the airport 10 minutes ago!"
"Where are all the shopping carts?" - from a customer who just came from the lobby... FULL of shopping carts
"Are you all open???"

My personal favorite: "Why are you giving my wife that look? Can't you just do your job without giving my wife that look?"

ha...maybe I was giving her that look because she kept scolding me for "dropping" her frozen, tubed croissants...truth is she took them (about 6 tube things) out of the bag that i put them in, grabbed a bag off the bag rack and put them all in the same bag...and the dropped them and blamed me disbelief

But! The customer is always right :))smilesmileSo of course I apologized and had to get new ones for her.

"You look bored, let me give you something to do" - Every entitled ***hole ever.

"It's to uhhh pay rent" - White freshman girls explaining why they're sending $400 to China.

"I'm going to shop at (competitor) instead from now on" - my reply to this is usually, "See you again tomorrow".

"This is f*cking ridiculous, you're always out of f*cking banana pudding" - 80-something year old black dude ranting at me.

"I actually meant to do Western Union" - After asking for and paying for a money order.

"I...D...?" - Quite a few international students trying to buy cigarettes.

"The other Kroger/employee here does it" - "Well, that means someone needs to be written up".

"You should do delivery" - soccer moms.

"Can you check the back for (obscure brand-name product here)?" - LOL

¨Do you have any I Can't Believe This Makes My Boobs Bigger cream? I always get it here.¨

(me checking the telexon) ¨Nope, sorry, that's an item that's been deleted.¨ (vein begins to pulse in customer's head)

¨YES. You DO. I just bought it here last WEEK. Go check, please.¨

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Because I believe in being thorough, I'll take as long as 20--30 minutes searching through my ware house. And when I come back to report that, no, we really do not have or carry her item any more.....she's gone like a puff of bad gas.

I love the ones who come to the deli asking for a meat that we don't carry, and they say "I just got it here 3 days ago".  Also, because we sell Boar's Head, we don't have other stuff, and the customers will ask "Why is Boar's Head allowed to dictate what you sell?", or "The other Kroger sells Boar's Head and they have it".

At my store CC's are on a rotation with other departments to clean areas of the store such as windows and under the shelves. I'm a girl.

My favorite from this week while I was on cleaning detail.

- Hey baby want to come clean my windows?

- I wish you'd come clean my floors.

- Ewww I just saw you on your hands and knees, I don't want you bagging my food. - Note she'd also seen me go to the bathroom to wash up and I used the Germ-X at the register.

- It must be nice not having to do any real work. - While I was scrubbing the meat counter windows.

Unrelated, but also heard a lot when I'm bringing in buggies.

- Shouldn't a boy be doing that?

"Can you call another store and see if they have this specific item?"

"Can you see if they have any in the back?"

(selling a lottery ticket) "This is a winner, right?" or "Please sell me the winning lottery ticket."

"Can you double bag my items in paper?"

"Are you open?"

"I know I'm not physically handicapped and am just an entitled b*tch who wants everything handed to her, but can I get a carryout, please?"

"Not scanning, must be free, har har har."

"I just printed that $100 bill this morning."

"Can you tell the other departments to get more of this in stock, I keep coming in here and it's out of stock everytime."

"What do you mean my ID is expired?"

"I'm shopping somewhere else from now on, you people are pathetic."

"Hi... *looks at name tag* (name)."

*hasn't scanned plus card yet* "THOSE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON SALE!!!!!!!!!!!" *shouting and screaming*

I wish it would always be like this: "Hello." *scans items while customer gets payment method ready* "Your total today is this." *customer pays without any problems* "Thank you, have a good day."

Because the contract with Boar's Head demands that no other exclusivity with the exception of Kroger brands (Private Selection).   The reason the price is Kroger gets kickbacks from them.  I refuse to buy Boar's Head products because I don't like their business practices.

One time some lady came up and asked how to get the digital coupon savings without a computer. I told her she needed a computer or a smartphone to register her card online, and she replied, "Or, I can just go to Wal-Mart and they'll ad-match it." I said "Sure, you can do that too if you want." Customers think I really care if they say they are going to another store. Go right ahead, I'm not paid enough to care. I'm sure this multi-billion dollar business will make do without your $30-40/week revenue.

Yep i do that all the time.  We don't make the programs or profit from them, some other corporate moron does that.

Which is a lie, since, at least in MI, every Kroger I've been in that has Boar's Head only also had Private Selection.  No Kowalski, no Krakus, none of that.

Kroger has contracts with Boar's Head to sell their stuff and Kroger brands only - so the customers get pissed because they can't get Kahn's bologna or Land o Lakes cheese, or Sara Lee stuff.

The store I worked at was in a predominantly elderly area. We lost a lot of business with the elderly because of the Boar's Head switchover. I personally like Boar's Head meat, but at $10/lb, it's considered a sometimes food.

We get people who say "I just got it here a week ago!" all the time. And I usually say "that's odd, I've been working here for 7 years and we've never carried that."

One time a woman claimed she ordered a party tray - we didn't have it done or have an order from her. She pointed at me and said "I ordered it with her!" when I hadn't taken an order in over a month. I asked her what day she ordered it on and said "Wednesday." I said "I wasn't working that day." Then she said "it was either Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday, I don't remember!" The manager who came to sort out the situation informed her that I only work on weekends. She got so mad.

One time we had a woman burst into tears at the deli because the Thanksgiving dinners we sell come cold. It even says on the form in big letters that the dinner will be cold and need preparation.  She said she had invited all her friends and told them she was cooking all day to make it and now they were going to know she didn't. Management forced our chef to cook it for her but it took the same amount of time it would have taken her, so I don't know how that helped.

These are all funny and got me thinking. These are not really comments but things the customer does to annoy me as a Cc.....

Parking in front of the buggy corrals when there are open spaces every where else. Sometimes the entire lot will be open and they pull up by me waiting for me to move.. Also they push carts down the wrong side of the register when checking out and you have to cram every thing around them as there isn't room to spare between the registers.

I'm confused...how would this work?  Are your registers "double wide?"  If someone tried to go down the wrong lane where I work, they would just crash into someone.  There isn't room for two carts.

Im  not sure all I  know is when they do we undoubtedly have to move the cart on the other side just to let them out and it never strikes them they are making it hard on everyone else.

My favorite was from earlier this year during a really bad snow storm.  While technically under a state of emergency, not one where people were required to stay off the roads, I had a woman come to the deli and complain when I told her the a chicken breast was $2.49.  She said "when did you raise the price of chicken?  You can't raise prices during a state of emergency, that's price gouging and that's illegal!"

Problem is the prices were set at the current levels for individual pieces over 3 years ago.  She was pissed and all of the sudden she became a lawyer.

Once, there was a lady who saw an item with a markdown sticker on it and picked it up, asked about it, and i saw the price was wrong on it. like she put the markdown sticker on it to get it at a lower price. So I told her that was the wrong price, and tried taking the sticker off. She yelled at me that once the price is on there, that's the price and it's illegal to change it, it's "false advertising". So by her logic, if i took a markdown label for a 99 cent slice of pie, and stuck it on say.... a piece of $150 patio furniture, i'd get the furniture for 99 cents.

It's not false advertising when the sticker clearly says "Pie" and the item is a chair. You can't just simply ignore half of the sticker and expect us to just go along with it.

All the facts must be taken into account when it comes to markdowns. Please do forgive my thoroughness when it comes to my job. I'd rather not be fired due to SOMEONEwanting to buy a chair for $0.99. {You're not worth the hassle. (- Statement optional.)}

Exactly, the sticker says on it what the item is to prevent that.

I think you should take these posts seriously and read and understand them before you post a negative reply.  He simply said "BY HER LOGIC".  He was just making and example, not saying he was going to do it.  Bagboy, you will be fired for being stupid long before someone has a wrong price sticker.

Working the baby aisle one day, and this guy comes by, looking at the diapers. He's there for a while, so I eventually ask if he needs help finding anything.

And he looks at me and says, no lie, "Do have any size 3 for white kids?"

The brand he was looking at had a black baby on the size 3 box. (Each size has a different baby on it.)

I almost ****ing lost it. I had no idea if he was racist or just stupid. I'm thinking stupid, because when I told him that's all we had, he called his wife to ask her what to do. He was an older guy, so he was probably buying for his grandkid and hadn't done it in a while. He also wanted to know if there was a difference between the ones with girls and boys on the boxes. When I told him it was just the packaging, he threw the box in his cart and took off. I couldn't stop laughing after that. What difference did he think there could be?!

Another one I get asked a lot: "Do you work here?"

No, I just love Kroger fashion.

My favorite customer comment wasn't when I was at work at Kroger.  I was shopping at a super Walmart on my day off.  I was dressed in jeans, boots, black coat.  I had a cart with some items in it and was passing through the isle by the clothing.  I heard this lady keep yelling  "miss", "ma'am", "MISS".  I finally turned around to see who was yelling and what was going on.  This lady looked right at me and she was so angry!  She asked me where something was (I've forgotten) and she was pissed.  I let her have it.  I told her "Does it look like I work here?  Look at me.  I have a cart of groceries.  I'm wearing a coat.  I don't work here and I don't know where it is".

People are just weird.

Sounds like some of the idiots that come through my store. The folks that wait in front of the cart bay blocking it so I have to manevoer around them in order to get the buggies in. One of the repeat offender's wife likes to fuss if there aren't any of the mini-carts when she goes in, but I'm usually having to waste time getting around their large as f--k truck to get the carts in anyway.

My other lot favorite is the people that leave their carts in random spots because they don't feel "safe" walking them two slots over to the corral. I like to block them in for a minute when I can, but then I'm a bit petty at times.

So this happened a few days ago...

Customer (white guy in his early 20's, looks like your typical college student in our typical college town): "I'd like to send money to China."

Me: "Ok, the Western Union forms are right over there, have you done this before?"

Customer: "No, can you show me how?"

Me: "Sure, how much are you trying to send for?"

Customer: "$320"

Me: "And may I ask what you're sending for?"

Customer: "An ID."

Me: (oh god is this guy that dumb? I bet he is) "Just in case it's a scam, do you mind if I take a look at what the receiver asked you?"

The customer at this point proudly whips out his phone and shows me the e-mail he received, promising him a realistic looking fake ID from "idgod" for only $320. Needless to say, I refused the sale.

You seriously ask the customers why they are sending money?  I couldn't care less, it's none of my business.

If it's a large amount i think it is required, something to do with the PATRIOT act or something like. It's like when you send money to Cuba or other communist countries they ask you for the reason of sending and also if you are affiliated with any Communist parties.
