Serious question about online application
Permalink

My local Kroger store has recently changed their hiring process to a 100% online only system. I spoke with the store manager today (who knows me) and asked him what I could do to speed the process along. He told me there's a "comment section" somewhere on the application site where I can write that the store manager has personally requested an interview with me.

What is this comment section he's referring to, and where is it? I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could clarify for me what he's talking about.

It might be phrased like "What other skills may qualify you for this position" or something like that. At this point you're just filling the application for compliance. A formality, if you will. It sounds like the store manager is ready to hire you.

It might be different in other divisions, but here they switched it so that new hires go through corporate first now.

I recently helped my brother fill out an application though, and there was a section for references. You might have to hit "next" or something to get to that part, I don't remember, but it's definitely on there. Just put the manager's name and store (if it doesn't already ask for it).

Your store's management has access to applications submitted to your store online.

Recall that when you start the application, you find the job that's specific to the store. I know that management can access those application and go through. All they'll need is your name and birthday (in case there's similar names in the applications list).
