Has anyone else been asked to hide outdated product or wait to scan-out items, or fudge reason codes to cover a manager? It seems to be our store policy.. :/ I thought system manipulation was grounds for immediate termination?!

I think all stores have done it at least once or twice. Corporate wants full shelves all the time. They also don't want very many markdowns or have any shrink. Sorry, you can't have it both ways. So if corporate decides to pay a visit and you have a lot of stuff to mark down or scan out, you hide it and wait till they leave and then you mark it down or scan it out. As long as you're not deceiving the public, you're good.
Now if you change the date on a package meat that's expired or something similar and then put it out, you will get fired. If the company tried to do that, they would be shut down.
We had a deli manager a couple years ago who got fired for that, changing dates on food. She got reported at a zone manager and tried throwing the whole department under the bus. It didn't work.
