Our Utility clerk used to help with tags(file maintenance) overnight once a week. The rest of the shifts would be cleaning Dairy and frozen glass. Or, produce and dairy racks. He had a list of cleaning tasks he was supposed to do each week. The Utility clerk is supposed to also help Drug GM set up the Seasonal aisle. Right now, that is the Halloween promo aisle. When he was finished, he would find odd things to do and then start over on the list.
No telling what you will be doing. Hopefully, you will be following someone around and they will show you the routine.
Hopefully you'll be trained... but then again, this is Kroger, and training sometimes amounts to little more than learning as you go.
Tasks can vary from store to store, but here, utility is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the restrooms, emptying trash cans inside and outside the store, sweeping the inside and outside of the store, performing general cleaning as needed and responding to spills. Those are the general daily tasks to perform.
