Harassment - What Should I do? No support frm the Union...

I have been physically attacked by a manager at the Kroger I work part time at, and I reported the 2 incidents to one of the Union Reps and she was use less to say the least, the union rep in essence indicated that I was mistaken in my report or incident(s) that occurred on me by a manager.  I am going to speak with another manager there, and with the abusive manager, if no resolve, I am emailing Mr. Steve Lomax the President of the Union 1996.

If your union rep says you don't have a case, go to her/his superiors and make sure you have the time and location noted. With all of the cameras in our stores I'm sure that there is record of the event if it wasn't too subtle. If it was outside that might be a different story since I know some of our cameras are rather blurry from weather and birds.

Physical attack?

Police report, number one.

Second, written statement (who, what, where, when) by you of facts.  Submit statement with police report copy to company human resources, retaining copies yourself, of course.

Don't let the abuser get away with it.

Sounds like the manager I had once. He sucker punched me out on the loading docks unprovoked. I got back up and beat the living crap out if him. He had to stay in the hospital about a week. the cameras filmed everything and the manager was fired. This happened about a year ago and this former management is STILL trying to get me fired for his ass being beat.

File a police report ASAP.

the union sadly works more with kroger than with the employees.
it is a shame, but it is how things have become.

Go to the police first and report this to EthicsPoint. Is "not being physically assaulted" really something you would find covered in the union contract? Not getting assaulted is a law.

Do you have any injuries?  If so you could contact an attorney.

how did you not get fired as well?  DOn't they have a zero tolerance policy?  I always wondered if a person were able to fight back if they got hit first.

Yeah I always thought that if two workers got in a fight, both workers would be automatically terminated.

If it's self defense, why get fired? I'd have done the same thing. Except it wouldn't be a week he'd be out. It be longer
