I want to get a night time job because Kroger doesn't pay me enough. I cant think of any places to apply. I cant apply at giant eagle or Walmart because they are considered competitors. I would prefer a 3rd shift stocking job because I don't like dealing with a lot of customers. fast food is a definite no no. I considered meijer because they are apart of the union but the store locations they are hiring at are too far from me. any ideas/suggestions? is it possible I can work at two different Kroger locations?
Is there a UPS or Amazon warehouse near you? How about a paper route? My neighbor was a landscaper and he supplemented his income during the off season with a couple paper routes.
I would take a chance, find some where that treats you right and don't tell them or Kroger about the other. There's gonna be a lot of 'oh, don't listen to nocturnia' but this is about you and YOUR needs. If it comes that the new place gives you better pay/hours, transition to that ------BTW, I've done exactly this before....and NOBODY found out. It can be done.
This is about YOU. FK Kroger.

The only competition would be grocery stores. If OP took a job with the competition, it's only a matter of time before a customer comes into Kroger and says something like "oh, you're working here today? I thought you worked at Meijer, you work both places now?"
I see all the Kroger customers at WalMart and Aldi's when I shop there. Most customers shop around at all the area stores.
You could probably get away with it in a larger city, but in my town of 15,000, there's no way you could do that and get away with it. The customers remember you and will know you work at both places, it'd be a matter of time before both companies found out.

Heck, I don't know our city's population, probably a mil, but I've shopped waaayyyy across town and run into one of my regular customers. Heck, last year when I was Christmas shopping there were three of my regular Kroger customers in the same line I was in at Academy. It was funny.
You've thought of a Temp agency? I wouldn't recommend working for Amazon tho. They demand that you work 10 to 11 hour shifts. Before hand I worked at a Fry's but left when I was offered fulltime at Amazon.
i have never understood this bull****... can't work for competitor??? why? i could see a concern if you worked in an area of the store that was critical to company 'secrets', like they a d@mn govt or something.. but a low level cashier, stocker, etc., really? i don't get paid enough to care about the company bullsh!t to spy on any of them. i am there for a paycheck, and a cr@p one at that.. i ain't no ceo, manager, etc...lol.
I ran into one of the cashiers who worked in the same store I was at in the Kroger that's closest to my house.
Her reaction: "what are you doing all the way out here?!" She was shocked to hear that I worked 45 minutes away for 10 months. So OP wouldn't have to worry only about other customers, but other co-workers as well.
Your safest bet for an overnight job is in a 24-hour fast food joint, or a factory, assuming you live anywhere near one.
