I'm out of Kroger
Permalink

So after working in my Kroger's deli for more than two years while I'm still in college I put in my two weeks notice because I was hired somewhere else. I tried to call out for the first time in that period and my department head gave all of my shifts away on the second week. I'm not really looking for advice on what to do I'm just feeling for your opinions. Thanks all.

My opinion?

I'm glad you're doing what I think Y'ALL should do, and as for that two week notice? UH UH. One call off in two years and you get robbed like that, I'd have two words and they wouldn't be thank you ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

he shouldn't have gave all your shifts away as you still worked for them for that final week. If you're okay with it then that's fine but if you weren't I'd tell you to call the union to complain.

As if the union would do anything. My FEM took me off the schedule entirely for my first attempt at a call in when I tried to give them 24 hours notice.
The petty b!tch got mad that I couldn't come in due to a schedule conflict with the second job I had to take because Kroger couldn't provide me with enough of a living wage. When I went to the union I got nowhere on the subject. I just left and never really looked back. This company is ridiculous the way they work internally.
