Hi, all. I am planning on moving to colorado and working at a fred Meyers as an associate. This will be a big change for me, so i am curious as to how much of a financial change it will be. So let me tell you my backgroubd:

I worked at frys for 2.75 years. 8 months courtesy clerk, 1 year grocery clerk and the rest assistant grocery manager. I had veen a grocery clerk long enough to make 8.35 (2 raises). Then as assistant grocery manager i was maxed out at 14.30.

Can anybody tell me what the payrates are at fred meyer? For associates or really any other position would be good to know too. Thanks

What state are you moving from?

You need to coordinate the transfer with the store manager in Colorado or go through HR to keep your pay.  I am not sure who you need to speak with but someone else will know how to do transfers and keep most of your pay.  Otherwise, you might be started as a new hire with only a $1 experience pay if you are lucky.

Good luck with your move.

Should have been more clear. Im no longer with any kroger store. I am considering it though for when i do move. Is there anywhere i can find the union contract for those particular stores?

Also, i only know the payscale for frys. I pretty much know what all the departments make too. But it seems like those numbers wouldnt be accurate anywhere else.

Apcs-  8.15-13.30

All assistant department heads besides meat get a dollar above max pay rate. Asst meat gets like 18.19

Produce: 18.20

Gm/Deli: 16.45

Bakery: 17.15

Meat: 22.75

Grocery and front end managers are salary and start at 50,882 and 45,775 respectively.

Does anybody have information like this about fred meyer in co?

Az btw

Jesus Christ y'all get paid so much better than we do in Indiana. We cap out at 13.6 here regardless of department.

Don't forget to factor in cost of living differences

Wait are you saying that a grocery manager at your store makes 13.60? What do associates cap out at? If i wasnt clear, all those pay rates i listed were either department heads or assistant department heads. Regular worker guys cap out at 13.30

I work for at a Fred Meyer in Oregon and starting pay is ten cents over minum wage unless you're a CC, then it is minum wage.  Experience pay is about 50 cents over.  Raises are 10 cents per 1000 hours.  The service departments like Bakery, deli, seafood and nutrition have faster raises, but their top out is 12 an hour.  Top out for grocery is 16 an hour.  Actual meat cutters are 19 an hour.  Its possible you could get mgmmt to hire you @ what you were making at Fry's, but a lot of times they think they can get something for nothing or that you have to learn how to do it the "EFFF GEEE MAYER" way so you don't deserve the money. Factor in the union iniation fee and dues as well.  I generally advise unless you are getting hired at about what you were making its not worth it.  Good luck.

Where I'm at it breaks down like this--

1. Hire in at $12.75/hr. 3 months in and with full benefits your up to $13.40.

2. After your 1st year your at $15.60 give or take---the contracts have been rough the last 2-3 yrs, or itd be more by now

3. If your still there 5 yrs in, your easy ^ over $20./hr. Plus health/dental become free 100% covered, that's pretty good.
