I took 2 personal days last week and just realized I got paid 8 hours each for them even though last year I only got paid 4 hours for each personal day I took. I'm considered part time even though i've been working 35-40 hours a week.
Probably a clerical error. The dilemma: Do you give it back or keep it? Are they testing your honesty or not?
If it is a payroll error, most payroll clerks will not want to fix it.
What state are you in? It depends on your contract. Maybe someone will know if you had a contract change.
Where I am at, part timers only get paid 4 hours for each PH day. We also do not get full time based on 40 hours worked for so many weeks in a row. Maybe you became full time and no one knew?
Here, the amount of hours you get on your ph day depend on how many hours you've worked in the last few weeks (12 maybe?) so you might be getting 8 hours of pay because you are working 35-40 hours weeks.
It is, from personal experience, that when payroll accidently overpays on a paycheck, BAM! They notice straight away and take back the extra they overpaid before the ink even dried on your check. Or if not they take it out if your next check.
However, if they short you they tend to take foooorrrevvver paying what they owe. Now, if you choose to keep it, it's on you. But they will notice and take back. Not if, but when they notice.
You may have gotten full time status too however. Thouroghly check over your paycheck and make sure.
