At my store there are a number of Courtesy Clerks that are able to run register/SCO with their own numbers. They are sometimes even scheduled to run these registers/SCO however their classification is still Courtesy Clerk... is this in violation of anything?
It's all lumped under needs of the business, and they're the boss and you're not, and y'all are REALLY getting screwed loose with this sick joke of a union.
Lemme tell you something most of you aren't going to care about or listen to and just continue hating on me for saying, even tho I've always been right about it and I always will continue to be right about it----
The UFCW is your real enemy. Not corp., not management, but the greedy blood thirsty bastards who cheerfully take a piece of your pay checks before you even see them. You're always there for them, hell, before you even get out of bed. Stop right this second and ask yourself:
I'm a Front End Clerk (bagger) and this is my third week in a row of being a cashier! I don't like it, but I guess I've been reclassified as take it or leave it;) Our store has now scheduled some baggers to rotate out as a 'Utility' clerk and that means that for their entire shift they have to bring in shopping carts - I can't imagine this in 100 degree heat !
Oh and as far as the Union goes, they don't do anything for us and if you do go there with your tale of woe, the managers make your life a living hell. One of our older lady cashiers went to union and this week they just transferred her to deli without asking, or giving any reason except that she was too slow (mind you she was hired over a year ago and had the same speed then).
