Put on schedule as a Courtesy clerk when I'm a meat Clerk??

so somehow next week a kroger manager put me down for 2 courtesy clerk shift? but I'm also working in the meat department for the rest of the week? are they allowed to do this? i read on another form that you had to sign some paper to work as a courtesy clerk again. i also thought you weren't allowed to work as a courtesy clerk when you've been promoted into another department.

addition details, i worked for krogers for 3 years and I was promoted from a courtesy clerk after 5 months of working and have never had another shift there since.

Does anyone know if they are allow to use me as a courtesy clerk and a meat clerk?? and does anyone know what the form is called that you have to sign when being demoted to courtesy clerk, for future reference when i talk to my manager.

any advice or options welcome.

I would talk to your manager. Maybe a courtesy didn't or wouldn't be able to cover those shifts and they chose you to cover. Is the store manager from another store and does it at their home store? If so they may think it's ok to do it where you are. Two days doesn't seem too bad, however if it's happening a lot or more days you are a courtesy than meat, I would DEFENATELY check into it and ask.

Are you sure you were properly promoted to Meat Department?

Check your pay stub info on Kroger.com.  Make sure you are classified as a Meat Clerk.  Make sure you are getting paid the correct wage.

The store manager can have any clerk do any job in the store that needs to be done per our contract where I am at.  Except, only Meat clerks can work in the meat department.

I would ask the store manager or schedule writer/your department manager.  Might be a brain fart.  Or, they don't have enough hours for the Meat Department so they are taking hours from the front end to make the overall store hours look good on paper.  The schedule might say CC but you could be working in the Meat Department instead.
