No hours

I got hired Last month and Ive done a few shifts but my name is never down on the schedule to work and I have to keep ringing eve few days to find out when I'm meant to be working next, I got promised when I got hired that I would get 20 hours a week but that's never happened.

Would it look bad to call and discuss with my manager and ask am I just relief for when they need me or are they forgetting me on the rota? They hired 3 new CC and I'm the one with the least hours if any :/ I'm considering looking for another job with set hours.

I would look for another job anyway but don't tell anyone at Kroger.

If your Customer Service Manager(schedule writer) has not fixed this yet, then you now need to go to the Store manager.  Store Manager only.  Not a co manager unless you have a good rapor with them.  Call and ask to speak with them or talk with them during a shift.

Most contracts guarantee you 12 hours a week.  20 hours was bait to to get you in the door.  Yours may be different.  They are able to schedule you 0 hours a week at a time and avoid unemployment but that rarely happens.

Most ccs have school so there should be hours for you unless they are overstaffed.

Also, do you have open availability?

Thanks for the reply, I'm just getting sick of the manager who hired me just keeps telling me to ring them to sort out hours as they are too busy when I asked when I was finishing my shift.

I have open availability, I have no school or anything holding me from working. I'll see if I can get hold of the manager who sorts the shifts out and not the manager who hired me as I feel they are not taking me seriously. I'll also start applying for some more jobs too.

Spoke to the Customer Service Manager and I've been given 30 hours next week then 39 hours a week after that for the following 2 weeks, ill probably still apply for other roles more in what I'm trained in then maybe keep frys as a side job or something.

im just glad I've got some decent hours before Christmas
