Getting Full Time - Update*
Permalink

So I posted on hear back in October about getting full time and how someone with less seniority was given full time and how I was just gonna sneak it. This week was my 12th week and I had 39 Hours so I'm assuming I got it (Contract states 12 consecutive weeks at 36 hours or more is full time.) So I was curious, how long it takes to switch over in the system and when do I get a raise. I'm already topped out at part time pay.

[Why not update the original thread?]

First, make absolutely sure you've already qualified for full time before yacking to management about it.

Second, be aware that Krogrr habitually underpays and improperly withholds funds due associates.  If your store management is unhelpful, you may have to file a grievance to get credited properly for status and pay.

i haven't said anything to them yet, I'll have to talk with the steward but it should switch over tomorrow on Sunday since that starts the 13th week. I really need that wage bump so thats why I'm asking how long does it normally take for it to switch over in the system.

I hope you get a wage bump... but don't get your expectations up too high. My wage bump from part time to full time was only twenty cents - now granted, I wasn't topped out as a part-timer like you are, but this is Kroger we're talking about and Kroger isn't known for paying a living wage and it's also not known for being "timely" with stuff that needs to be/should be done, so just remember - when it comes to Kroger, keep your expectations (abysmally) low so you don't end up being too disappointed.

When I become full time back in September it took a few weeks before I showed up as full-time on the schedule (the schedule writer was updating me). So it could be a little bit longer. And my manager just found out this week I was made FT.

When i got full time, NO ONE knew. I only noticed cause I saw on express hr that my pay changed to a higher amount than my 6 month raise was suppose to be (my 6 month raise and full time raise was the same time apparently). I only knew i was FT was because when i asked HR to look at why my raise was so high the website they brought up said i was FT. I had to tell the co managers that i was FT. My  manager that does my schedule didn't notice until I put in a personal day and it was 8 hours instead of 4.
this company is so weird

I went full time awhile ago.  Nobody ever notified me in anyway.  Even HR express when from PT to showing nothing, not PT or FT.  It's like nobody wants you to know or something.

Well when I go on HR express, it doesn't show whether I'm part time or full time. As far as I know, no one in management knows cause I haven't told them anything.

Management knows when everybody goes full time. In my division, when an employee gets full time, management has to contact the union to post a bid in case anybody with more seniority wants the full time position.

In my case, my department manager deliberately made me full time and management knew. I messed up though when I told management I wanted a transfer the same day I was notified I was made actual full time. I'm still full time, but I had to agree to stay at the store for a number of months.

When i first became FT, no one told me either, i only figured it out because my seniority date changed all of a sudden.

When you change your status from PT to FT, you will not see a significant raise. Kroger just find the FT pay that is close to the one that you have as a PT. Make sure where you are in the PT payment scale, because in the top of the scale for PT there is about a $2 diference between somebody with 5 1/2 years of work and 6 years(which is the top). If you don't have the 6 years they will just adjust your current payment (e.g.$8.25 for PT will be $8.30 for FT) and you will lose the $10 something payment correspon ding to your next raise as a PT.

Every contract is different. UFCW1529 (Delta) there is at least a 1$ an hour pay bump when graduating to full time status. That is the most obvious way of determining your FT status.
