Hello I am a new courtesy cle and to is my second day without the tests an quizes. So after I helped someone to their car right beore my shift ended the person gave me a $20 tip. It says in the handbook that casheirs aren't allowed to me tips but said nothing on I courtesy clerks or any other department was allowed to. So this confused me. I asked her if she was sure I should take it and she just handed it to me. So I wasn't sure what to do afterwards until I realized my shift was over. So what's the rule on it?
Yes courtesy clerks can keep their tips! Who needs spell check when they got an extra $20? It's all yours! Welcome to the holidays, the best time to get tips so remember to ask customers if they need help every now and again. $20 is a very good one, usually you see $5s pr $10s arpund this time. Think about it, not even waiters or delivery drivers get that sometimes!
Speaking as a former CC, tips are not allowed at all. Period. For anyone. However, what happens in the parking lot stays in the parking lot. Keep your mouth shut and you'll be fine. Open it and brag, not fine. And don't accept them in the store, that can and will cause problems.
When I help someone out and they try to tip me I politely refuse. I tell them that we have a rule here, and that I personally don't take tips, but I do appreciate the offer. It is hard when some of them won't take no for an answer.

I always took it if they insisted. If it makes them feel good, then let them.
