Transferring process

I submitted my transfer request form last Monday but management has not talked to me about it since. Store manager said he is going to talk to the store manager at the other store. Anyone know what they will talk about and how long it will be?

What is your current job description.  If you're a bagger or a cashier, the transfer shouldn't be a problem since baggers and cashiers are a dime a dozen.  If you work in a department that has a small staff, the manager at your current store may not let you transfer due to it being too much of hardship at your current store.  If you have a specialty job such as cake decorator, baker, meat cutter, or floral arranger, they may not let you transfer.  However, under many contracts, if you're asking for a transfer because you've moved, and your new address is more than a certain distance away (50 miles?), then they have to allow the transfer.

Not necessarily.  For our contract,  the person has to fill out an energy clause form and wait for a job bid to be posted at the other store.  They will get first dibbs on the bid if they have more seniority than other people that put in energy clause forms.

 I'm full time produce clerk.

They said they will need to hire somebody else first, but a few weeks ago they moved a full time girl out of our department into click list and nobody replaced her. My Produce department is SEVERELY understaffed as it is, but that is not my problem. Kroger should pay more and they'd not only have more help, but better help too. I get paid basically min wage to drive 40 miles everyday for that terrible paying job and they have the nerve to want me to stick around. I'd rather just quit but not until I find another job I would like.
