Okay, so my store's going with the debit cards and doing away with checks. I was wondering if anyone else had experience with that. I want to sign up for the card, but I still need to call and activate it. I tried to do it online but for a strange reason everytime I did it, it showed I wasn't entering something correctly, which I did.
How long should it take for money to get on the card? I mean, I know when it's payday it will be on there. But my question is, how long does that time take? I think for direct deposits it's three pay periods.
What happens to the "checks" in the meantime? Do they get mailed to regular addresses?
The debit cards will work the same way as direct deposit does. Money will go on your card around 3 AM/early morning.
I do not recommend using the debit cards. They're third party and they have a lot of fees. Be prepared to find it a hassle to ever withdrawal. Just go to the nearest bank and setup a checking account.
We had something similar when I worked at Office Depot. But I haven't heard of it being introduced in our store. I am old fashioned-I want a PAPER check!!
